What is Carelumina?
Carelumina is an MLM or Multi-Level Marketing company that sells a range of health and wellness products.
Their product line includes cosmetics, fitness related products, and dietary products that are claimed to help improve the overall health of consumers.
There is very little information given about the company’s background, history, or even the founders. All we know is that they are based in Jacksonville, Florida.
A big concern or red flag for us is this lack of information and transparency. There can be very little trust for a company that isn’t very honest, and transparent.
Either way, the company aims to help people live a healthier and happier life, with the help of their scientifically and medically-effective products.
You can learn a little more about the company, with this 8-minute video…
There is a lot of confusion, when it comes to MLMs and whether they could really be a pyramid scheme… Let’s get into that topic now!
Is Carelumina a Pyramid Scheme
No, Carelumina is not a pyramid scheme.
It is possible for members to earn money from just selling their products without a need to recruit people.
Having said that, there is the question of whether Carelumina could still be a pyramid scheme in disguise…
What’s a Pyramid Scheme?
A pyramid scheme is a company that promises payment for recruiting new members instead of selling any products or services.
Most countries have actually made pyramid schemes illegal, as it is impossible for all members to actually earn an income when recruitment is the only option. This diagram from Wikipedia shows how unsustainable pyramid schemes are…
The problem with many MLMs is that whilst it is possible to make money just from selling the products. The members who are making decent money are usually those that have recruited a huge downline team under them.
99% of MLM members are losing money due to a monthly sales quota and expensive products to deal with. The only way to get away without buying products every month is to recruit, and then keep on recruiting.
This 5-minute video will help you spot pyramid schemes in disguise…
Now, let’s talk about the success rate…
Success is Rare at Carelumina
Success isn’t just rare at Carelumina, it’s rare at any MLM opportunity.
Did you know that between 73% and 99% of all MLM members are losing money?
Most members are losing money due to the monthly sales quota that is forced on them. This sales quota means you have to sell a certain number of products every month, in order for you to be eligible for commissions.
If you’re unable to sell these products, you have to buy them yourself. This is why so many MLM members are losing money, and also makes them the biggest customer base for the MLM company too.
The only way to avoid this quota, as selling expensive products is tough anyway, is to recruit and that again points at MLMs operating more like a pyramid scheme in disguise…
How Does Carelumina Work?
Carelumina sells a range of health and wellness products. These come in the form of dietary supplements, skincare, and health regimens.
They also offer the chance for everyday people to become agents who can then buy their products at wholesale prices and then sell that at a higher retail price.
It makes it sound like its a win-win deal. But what is really happening, is that Carelumina is saving millions of dollars a year on expensive marketing campaigns.
Instead, their agents do all the promotions and advertising. But when you’re in a saturated market like the health and wellness industry, this is a lot harder than you might think.
Carelumina Product Line
If you’re seriously considering joining an MLM, you need to get a good idea of what products they are offering, so you know what to expect. It helps for you to understand them, as these are the things you will be selling…
Carelumina sells heath supplements, like creams, juices, and other things too.
Some of their best-selling lines are:
- Carelumina Brillant ($35) – this is a skin lightening cream that improves the overall complexion. This is sold by the bottle
- Carelumina Build ($70) – this is a premium whey protein that helps build muscle mass. This is sold per canister
- Carelumin Protect ($50) – this is a facial sunscreen that blocks out the harmful radiation from the sun, whilst moisturising your skin
Now, at a glance, their product line might look great and seem really unique. But you should know that there are many different brands out there all offering the same range of products.
The most popular and best-selling MLMs are:
These companies all claim to be unique and special, because of an exclusive ingredient or technology present in their health supplements. But the reality is that they are all offering the same thing, just a different label…
So, is there any product they have, that might be one that makes them unique?
Carelumina Flagship Product
If you were to pick out one product, it would be this…
Carelumina Cold-pressed Juice ($70)
This is an all-natural juice that contains essential vitamins and minerals, which are needed to boost energy, improve body circulation, and enahnace overall physical, emotional, and mental health (apparently).
This comes in a bundle of 6 bottles.

Can You Make Money with Carelumina?
It will be possible to make money with Carelumina, but it will be really hard.
MLM companies make their opportunity sound like a dream side gig, that you can work a little to earn some money. But the harsh reality is the ones that do become successful are those that treat it like a full-time sales manager.
What make sit harder to gauge whether anyone is really making any money at Carelumina is that they don’t publish an income disclosure statement. It is anyones guess as to whether anyone is making money here or not.
How To Make Money with Carelumina?
Carelumina is a typical MLM, so there are the usual two ways for you to make money here:
- Buy products at wholesale prices and sell at retail prices (you keep the difference)
- Recruit people into your downline and earn bonuses based on their sales
To avoid being labelled a pyramid scheme, they don’t actually pay you for the recruitment alone. You need to train your downline team up to be able to sell products, so you can earn a commission from their sales.
Getting Started with Carelumina
Getting started with Carelumina will cost you a $200 subscription fee. After this you will also need to purchase at least $25 worth of products a month, which wil come in the form of an autoship.
Carelumina Monthly Costs
To remain qualified as a member, you need to maintain a PV of 25 a month.
PV stands for Personal VOlume, and it means that you need to sell $25 worth of product every month. As you buy the products first, you need to keep on buying the products every month even if you are not selling anything.
Here’s what the minimum costs will be for the first year
- $200
- $25 x 12
Minimum Costs for Year 1 = $500
When you compare that to the many other MLMs out there, that isn’t actually that bad a price. But what you do need to take into consideration is that this is just the minimum costs associated. You’ll need to factor in other costs like travel, training, food, gas, and any other costs that might crop up along the way.
P.S. This program enabled us to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream! It’s Free to get started and costs only $49/month to go full-time!
Carelumina Compensation Plan
MLMs love a complicated and confusing compensation plan and Carelumina is no different.
We’re going to try to keep our explanation simple, so you can get an idea of how it all works.
Carelumina offers 3 main ways for their members to make money, these are:
- Retail Commission – Buy the products at a wholesale price and then sell them at retail price (40% commission)
- Recruitment Commission – Earn a 40% bonus every time you recruit a member who purchases a starter pack. You can also earn a 10% bonus whenever your recruited member, goes onto to recruit a new member
- Residual Commissions – Earn 3% to 6% commission from your downline teams overall sales. The percentage is based on your rank and level
I know that probably hasn’t made it any clearer, but it is completely normal for an MLM to use complicated terms and explanations, so that it seems like there are loads of different ways to make money.
But the reality is that there are only really two ways for you to make money from their compensation plan, and these are:
- Sell Carelumina products to consumers
- Recruit members into Carelumina
You can learn a little more about their compensation plan with this 15-minute video…
Alternatively, you can find their full compensation plan here.
Is Carelumina a Scam?
No, Carelumina isn’t a scam.
They offer a legitimate product line and the company pays it’s members on time like it claims it does.
The main reason why so many people start calling an MLM out as a scam is often down to them being mislead by their upline/sponsor. They didn’t know all the facts before they got started, and they didn’t realise that they would need to be full-time sales managers to have a chance of earning more than they have to spend to stay active.
They realise they are losing money, and so leave and start calling it a scam.
The rest of our review is going to ensure you get all the other details you need to know about Carelumina, so at least you’re in an informed decision to know if this move is right for you.
Just to be completely transparent with you, I’m not a distributor of Carelumina, nor do I endorse Carelumina in any way. I have researched the website, testimonials, and information available on the internet to get the details about what this program genuinely does. I do this, as I have been caught out by a scam in the past, and am trying to help others avoid a similar fate…

What We Liked About Carelumina
Here’s what we liked about Carelumina:
#1 Positive Product Reviews
It’s alway worthwhile taking a look at what consumers actually think about the products, and from their facebook page there are positive reviews about their products, which is a good sign.
Whilst there are positive reviews, I would just say to err on the edge of caution, that these might be posted by those promoting the products. Especially as there are that many reviews.
But if they are genuine, at least it shows people enjoy the benefits the products are claimed to give.
What We Didn't Like About Carelumina
Here’s what we didn’t like about Carelumina:
#1 Expensive Products
One of the biggest problems I find when reviewing these MLMs is the price they believe is ok to charge for their products. Think about it, would you pay the prices Carelumina are charging, when you know that Amazon offers a very similar product for over half the price less?
Carelumina’s prices are a lot more than you will find elsewhere and you are going to have to try to convince people to pay over the odds to go with your products.
Expensive Products are one sign towards an MLM operating like a pyramid scheme. Let’s discuss the second point now…
#2 Hidden Monthly Expenses
Whilst the monthly costs are lower with Carelumina, they are still a factor as you are required to sell at least 25 PV a month to remain active. You need to be able to sell $25 worth of product every month to be eligible for commissions.
But what you may not realise is that if you are unable to achieve this, you will need to buy $25 worth of product every month anyway.
A fact that many MLMs do not want you to know is that their biggest customer group is their own agents. Many of them will end up having a garage full of stock, that they have no chance of being able to sell, in the hope that they can start making sales.
So, these two can sometimes point to an MLM being a potential pyramid scheme in disguise…
#3 Saturated Market
The health and wellness market is heavily saturated. There are so many companies, as well as MLMs all targeting the health and wellness sector.
This means there are so many reps all trying to go for the same customers to buy their products. And most of the products are all very similar.
#4 Is Carelumina a Pyramid Scheme in Disguise?
Expensive products and a monthly sales quota, in a heavily saturated market all point towards it operating like a pyramid scheme in disguise.
The reason we say that is because the only way of avoiding having to buy $25 of products every month to start focusing heavily on recruitment. That stops you needing to buy products, and forces the people you recruit to buy them instead.
But the reality of what is really happening within the company looks like this…
If you don’t want to keep on losing money, you’ll need to focus on recruitment and put a lot of effort into it.
With this in mind, Carelumina could be considered a pyramid scheme in disguise.
#5 Transparency Issues
A concern we have is the lack of transparency on a couple of different fronts. There is no information about who is behind the company, or how it got started. This brings trust issues with potential agents and even customers, as they like to know where the products have come from.
Then there is the lack of an income disclosure statement. Most MLMs that do publish one, do show that only a select few earn decent money. But at least that company is transparent.
That isn’t the case here, you are going into this blind without any idea if anyone is actually making this work.

My Carelumina Review - Final Conclusion
From a product view, Carelumina appears to sell some good health and wellness products, although the price is the concern as they are still overpriced.
As for their business opportunity, it all points to it being a potential pyramid scheme in disguise.
Expensive products, a monthly sales quota in a heavily saturated market all point to it following the market norm, which is 99% of their members are losing money and as they don’t publish an income disclosure, there is no way of knowing if anyone is earning money here or not.
There are much better ways to make money online, even if health and wellness is something that interests you, keep reading to learn more…
How We Make Money Online
I’m not a fan of MLM, not because it’s illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and expensive costs involved.
Instead, Affiliate Marketing is our top recommended business model for anyone looking to make money online
The reasons are simple…
- You can promote anything you want and aren’t restricted to only promote products from one MLM company
- You don’t have to recruit anyone to make money
- You never need to sell to your friends and family
- It’s free to get started
In fact, with affiliate marketing we’ve been able to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream. If you want to learn more, click here.

Sharing is Caring…
Thank you for sharing this wonderful article- Is Carelumina a Scam? Health MLM or Pyramid Scheme? A lot of people are looking for jobs online right now. Your post gives a very clear description of Carelumina and how it operates. the entrance fee is high this is certainly one of the turn offs. Plus you have to pay a monthly fee
Hi Diana,
thanks for checking out our review. There are many hidden factors with an MLM, that a lot of people are not made aware of. Part of that is the MLM keeping it secret, and a lot of it is down to desperate agents looking to recruit people to avoid the monthly costs, and saddling their new recruits with it instead.
The statistics speak for themselves though, 99% of MLM members are losing money! It can work for some, and we have a useful guide for people who do want to make it work in the modern era.
But for most people, they need to be doing more research before trying to jump straight into something they don’t really know about.
All the best
John
