Pros

  • Unique Products
  • Wide Choice

Cons

  • Hidden Monthly Expenses
  • Pyramid Scheme in Disguise?
  • Refund Complaints
  • Really Low Success Rate

Summary: Life Leadership is an MLM company that sells personal development resources that can help improve your financial resources, and overall welfare.  They also offer an affiliate program where members can recruit and sell these products for commission.

Whilst it isn’t an outright pyramid scheme, there is a push for recruitment and only those that are good at recruitment will be making good money – so it could be considered a pyramid scheme in disguise!  But the fact that only 0.75% of members are making more than $500+ through their compensation plan, is a major red flag and a reason to avoid this opportunity.

What is Life Leadership?

Life Leadership is an MLM or Multi-Level Marketing company that sells educational materials revolving around three main categories:

  • Financial Development
  • Professional Development
  • Personal Development

These categories are support with books, videos, and audio materials.  Their training materials are also ideal for people who want to improve their sales skills and financial status.  Alongside their training materials, they also provide tools to help people monitor their expenses, credit, and other financial assets.

Life Leadership also holds live training and events around the world.

The company was launched in 2011 by Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, Dan Hawkins, and George Guzzardo.  We’ll discuss the owners in a little more detail shortly.

For now, you can learn a little more about Life Leadership with this 7-minute video below…

Who’s Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward?

Chris Brady is one of the co-founders of Life Leadership, alongside Orrin Woodward.  Brady is a New York Times’ bestselling author and speaker, and has received numerous awards and recognition.

Orrin Woodward is also a successful author who made it to the Guinness Book of World Records for having the largest number of book signings.

He won numerous awards as well including the Inc Magazine Leadership and National Technical Benchmarking Award.

Although, there is another side to Orrin…

Orrin started as a consultant for Amway, whilst designing fuel pumps  for General Motors.  He left to do this full-time, and he founded Team.  Which were sales tools for Amway consultants.

Amway weren’t particularly happy about this, but it did make the company money.  Eventually he left Amway (which included some lawsuits) and he struck up a deal with MonaVie’s founder, Dallin Larson.

In a short summary from this Forbes article, it states that Orrin created a “pyramid within a pyramid”.  Forbes went on to say that Orring had tools to help sell MonaVie, but what he was really selling was hope and motivation.  Team eventually broke off and became Life or Life Leadership…

You can also check out this blog post to learn a little more about Orrin. But the signs are not great.    In order to make themselves look like top leaders, Brady and Woodward have used several tricks, lies and deceptions.  But all it does is make themselves look worse than they are.

Is Life Leadership a Pyramid Scheme

Technically no, Life Leadership is not a pyramid scheme.

They do provide a legitimate product line that their distributors are able to sell to earn money, without the need to actually recruit anyone.  However, the bigger question to answer is whether or not Life Leadership are hiding behind these products and are a “pyramid scheme in disguise?”

What’s a Pyramid Scheme?

A pyramid scheme is a company that is promising payment in return for recruiting people into the company instead of focusing on selling their products or services.

They have been made illegal in most countries around the world, as it is impossible for everyone to make money when recruitment is the only option to make money.  This diagram from Wikipedia explains why…

pyramid scheme

As the diagram shows, a structure based solely on recruitment would run out of people to recruit very quickly.

A pyramid scheme in disguise is a company that does offer legit products, but hides behind them to make you think that recruitment is not their main objective.  Most MLMs are guilty of making this seem like the norm, as they make their products expensive with a monthly sales quota, making their distributors have to keep on buying products to remain active.

The only way to avoid this is to recruit a team to pmake them have to buy products continually and them not have too.

Which is both unethical and borders on a pyramid scheme, or a pyramid scheme in disguise…

The 5-minute video below helps you spot these pyramid schemes in disguise…

Success is Rare at Life Leadership

Success isn’t just rare at Life Leadership, it is really hard to achieve success at any MLM company…

Did you know that 97.3% of Life Leadership Members are losing money?

But if you also look at the wider MLM world, between 72.5% and 99.9% of MLM members are losing money with these business opportunities…

Why does this happen?

Well, it is because of the monthly sales quota that MLMs force onto their members.  It means that you have to sell a certain number of products a month to remain active and eligible for commissions.

When members are not able to achieve this sales quota, they end up having to buying the products themselves.  They lose hundreds or even thousands of dollars before they are able to recruit a single member into their downline.

We’ll get into more detail about Life Leadership’s income disclosure statement, later in the review…

How Does Life Leadership Work?

Life Leadership is an MLM company that sells financial education training and tools, in the form of videos, books, and audio materials.

They also offer an opportunity for everyday people to work from home by selling these products in return for a commission.

It sounds like a good deal for both parties…

But the reality is that the company is saving millions of dollars a year on marketing these products.  Instead they let their members do the hard job of selling these products to others, when no one has even heard of the brand.

Before we get into how to get started, or their compensation plan, let’s talk about their product line…

Life Leadership Product Line

Before considering any MLM opportunity, it is a good idea to get to know their products.  Even possibly giving them a try, as you’ll need to get a good handle on this if you want to make this work for you.

So, here are some of their most popular products, to give you an idea…

  • Financial Fitness Services ($60/month) – Provides training on how to improve financial resources through smart investments and wise spending
  • All Grace Outreach ($30/month) – Provides training on how to speed up the process of saving money for your personal bank account.  It also teaches lessons on investments and expenses management
  • The Financial Fitness Master Class ($180 for physical and digital copies or $140 for digital copy only) – Provides a holistic financial education training on finance management, expenditure tracking, and financial background

Now, all MLM companies will make it out that they are super special and unique, when really they are all offer the same thing, just with a different name or label.

There are many different MLMs that show the same characteristics as Life Leadership, like:

So, is there anything that Make Life Leadership stand out and be unique?

Life Leadership – Flagship Product

Their flagship product is their Professional Development Course ($64.95).

This subscription gives you basic, intermediate, and advanced course on financial management.  This includes training on trending investments, finance analysis, and budgeting

Below is a 2-minute video that goes through what they offer for you…

It all sounds really interesting, but you’re here to understand if you can really make money here.  So, let’s get on and answer that question for you…

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

Can You Make Money with Life Leadership?

The honest answer is that it is going to be extremely difficult for you to make money with Life Leadership.

There may be a select few who are making slightly more than the minimum wage, but they will be really outgoing people who are acting like full-time sales managers.

But full-time sales managers at a normal company will be raking in a huge salary, not something just over the minimum wage.

The fact is their own income disclosure statement shows that hardly anyone is earning commissions at Life Leadership.  Which means they are also losing money trying to stay active.

How To Make Money with Life Leadership?

Life Leadership is an MLM, so that brings with it the usual 2 way of being able to make money here:

  1. Sell their financial training materials for retail commissions
  2. Recruit people into your downline and earn various bonuses

Please note that you don’t actually earn any money for recruiting people.  That would make it an outright pyramid scheme.

Instead you earn bonuses based on how well your downline team do with sales, etc.  this is how many MLMs avoid the pyramid scheme label.

But you also need to keep in mind that you have to maintain a minimum of 100 PV on a monthly basis to remain active and eligible for commissions.

What this means is that you have to sell at least $100 worth of Life Leadership products a month to stay active.  This is a lot more difficult than they make it sound, and often the members are left having to buy $100 worth of product themselves each month striving to stay active.

Getting Started with Life Leadership

To get started with Life Leadership, you’ll need to pay the following fees:

  • Business Starter Kit – $99
  • Sign up to a monthly subscription – Between $50 and $100 depending on the chosen package
  • Life Training Marketing System – $121.49
  • Pay the Membership Fee – $19/year

But the costs don’t stop there, I’m afraid…

Life Leadership Monthly Costs

Like I’ve already said, there is a monthly sales quota that you need to achieve if you want to stay active and be eligible for any commission you are able to earn.  But like with most MLMs, you’ll be expected to pick up any shortfalls.

Meaning that you’ll need to budget for spending at least $100 a month on products until you’re sellling any products…

So, here are the costs that you need to consider for the first year…

  • $99
  • $50 – $100
  • $121
  • $19
  • $100 x 12 ($1,200)

Minimum costs for Year 1 = $1,489 – $1,539

This is before you take into account any other costs that go with this type of opportunity, like training, marketing, travel, fuel, etc.

P.S. This program enabled us to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream.  It’s Free to get started and costs only $49/month to go full-time!

Life Leadership Compensation Plan

Most MLMs make it really hard to figure out their compensation plan, and Life Leadership is no different.  We’ll do our best to keep our explanation as simple as we can…

There are 5 main ways for you to earn money with their compensation plan…

  • Retail Commissions – Earn 15% commission from each of your personal sales
  • Customer Pool Bonus – Earn bonuses depending on the number of recruits you have made into the Registered Customer program each quarter
  • Cumulative Customer Bonus – Earn bonuses depending on the number of recruits  you have made into the Registered Customer program each year
  • Personal Bonus – Earn bonuses based on your monthly personal volume
life-leadership-compensation-plan
  • Depth Bonus – Earn a 2% bonus each time you are promoted in rank

Ok, that probably didn’t make it much clearer.  MLMs use loads of complicated terms to make it sound  like there are loads of different ways to make money, when the truth is there are only 2.  These are:

  • Sell their financial training products
  • Recruiting people into Life Leadership

When you take into account all the different ways of making money here, you’ll soon notice that all but one way revolves around recruitment, paving the way for Life Leadership to be a potential for being a pyramid scheme in disguise…

If you want to learn more about Life Leadership’s compensation plan, this 12-minute video will help you out…

Is Life Leadership a Scam?

No, Life Leadership isn’t a scam.

They have a legitimate line of products that help people with their financial health that have been created by professionals.  They also pay their members on time, like they say they do.

So, why do people start calling them out as a scam?  Well, that is mainly down to members not being told the whole truth on joining.  They soon realise that they are spending a lot more on staying active than they are actually making.

They soon leave and start claiming the company is a scam or due to the pressure to recruit, a pyramid scheme.  That is why there are so many complaints online about MLMs and the way they operate.

The rest of our review will ensure you get all of the other details you need to now, so that you can make an informed decision about this business opportunity…

Just to be completely transparent with you, I’m not a distributor of Life Leadership, nor do I endorse Life Leadership in any way.  I have researched the website, testimonials, and information available on the internet to get the details about what this program genuinely does.    I do this, as I have been caught out by a scam in the past, and am trying to help others avoid a similar fate…

What We Liked About Life Leadership

Here’s what we liked about Life Leadership:

#1 Unique Product Line

As MLMs go, Life Leadership is definitely different from the others.  When you consider that there are probably thousands in the health and wellness sector alone, there aren’t many like Life Leadership.

This may mean there is a lot less competition out there when trying to sell these products to people.  The only other one we have seen like this is Primerica.

Our concerns are more about their business model, and not the products they have on offer.

#2 Wide Choice

Another benefit is that they are offering a wide selection of different products, in the form of books, audio, and videos.

They also cover off a lot of different topics like financial security, confidence building, and personal development.

What We Didn't Like About Life Leadership

Here’s what we didn’t like about Life Leadership:

#1 Hidden Monthly Expenses

Yes, that is very true…  We’ve already mentioned this, but it comes down to the monthly sales quota.  Members are expected to sell 100 PV every month to remain active.  You need to be active if ou want to earn commissions.

To stay active, you need to sell 100 PV of product each month.  This works out to $100 each month.

But what they don’t realise is that if they cannot achieve that, then they have to buy the products themselves.

The truth the MLMs don’t want you to know is this…

Life Leadership’s biggest customer group is their own members as they keep on buying stuff in the hope of being their “own boss” in the soonest possible time.

#2 Life Leadership is a Pyramid Scheme in Disguise

When you have to keep on spending $100 a month just to stay active, then the only option you have to avoid losing $100 per month, is to recruit people into your downline…

When that happens, the structure of the company starts to look like this…

pyramid-scheme

But by recruiting these people, which are usually your friends and family, you pass on the burden of spending $100 per month to them… Not exactly ethical, right?

#3 Refund Issues

This is something that you have to factor in, as most customer service related issues will come to you.  But there are complaints made about not getting a refund when requested…

life-leadership-refund-complaint

This is a complaint found on their Better Business Bureau (BBB) page.  Or, there is this interesting thread of Reddit, which describes the problems with this company.

#4 Really Low Success Rate

It’s clear to see from the Life Leadership income disclosure statement, that 96.5% of their members are earning less than $1,100 annually.

Whilst 97.6% of their members are earning $2,294 annually, which is a really low figure.  Especially when you take into account the costs required to stay active.

Remember you’ll need to factor in annual expenses of $1,550 annually, which means you are spending more than you are earning.

Simply put, it shows that only 1 in 919 members are earning more than $10K annually.

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

My Life Leadership Review - Final Conclusion

Life Leadership is an MLM that offers an interesting range of products, specifically around looking after your finances, and personal development.  But our concerns are with their business opportunity, and not their product line.

It is quite clear that the only way to make good money here is by recruiting as many people as you can, which means passing on the burden of spending $100 per month to maintain a sales quota to remain active.

But our research clearly shows two things – not many people are making money here, and those that do are heavily focused on recruitment.  Which could mean that Life Leadership is operating like a pyramid scheme in disguise.

It’s up to the FTC to decide that.  But our opinion is that you shouldn’t consider this MLM opportunity…

How We Make Money Online

I’m not a fan of MLM, not because it’s illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and expensive costs involved.

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is our top recommended business model for anyone looking to make money online

The reasons are simple…

  • You can promote anything you want and aren’t restricted to only promote products from one MLM company
  • You don’t have to recruit anyone to make money
  • You never need to sell to your friends and family
  • It’s free to get started

In fact, with affiliate marketing we’ve been able to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream.  If you want to learn more, click here.
