Is Peerfly a Scam - Website

Summary: Peerfly is an Affiliate Marketing Network.  It focuses on the CPA or Cost Per Action or Acquisition side of Affiliate Marketing.  This means that affiliates are paid per lead or after a sale is successfully completed.  It launched in 2009.  It is a legitimate Affiliate Network, and boasts a huge number of affiliates but does lack a significant number of clients or businesses associated meaning that you may struggle to get approved for certain affiliate offers.  This will be especially difficult for a beginner to get both approved for offers, or to even get approved to join the platform with a tough verification process to get through just to join the network.

If you are already established and you want to connect with a specific affiliate program, then it might be worth the lengthy application process…

What is Peerfly?

Peerfly is a CPA or Cost Per Action Affiliate Marketing Network.  It acts an as intermediary between businesses (merchants) that own a product, and affiliate marketers or publishers that will help the merchant out by promoting their products for a commission.  If you are not too familiar with how affiliate marketing works, here is a link to our complete guide.

Currently Peerfly offers more than 2,000 live offers where an affiliate marketer could promote and make money from a specific action.

Peerfly was founded in 2009, by Alachua, which is a Florida-based company.  They have tried to keep it small, and have less than 50 employees.  They claim the reasons behind this is that they want to address their any questions or concerns that clients have without the need to talk to many different people within the company.

The company assigns a specific representative with their company to talk to respective clients.

Another feature that makes Peerfly a little more unique and different from other affiliate marketing networks is that their website and software platform were custom-built; they do not just depend on hosted services.

How Does Peerfly Work?

Like I said earlier, Peerfly focuses on CPA Affiliate Marketing and that is slightly different to the usual affiliate marketing model.

Let’s explain the difference…

Normally, with affiliate marketing it is where you promote a product like with the Amazon Associate program.  If you get someone to buy a product with your affiliate link, you get rewarded with a commission for introducing a buyer.

Cost Per Action is a little different, as it depends on what the merchant wants you to do.  For example, it might be you get paid for getting people to sign up to a specific offer or to sign up to an email list.

It is a specific action that is required, and not necessarily buying a product.  If we took the example of getting people, you have a certain offer that will require signing up forms.  Once these forms have been accomplished, you’ll receive between $1 to $3 per person you get to complete the signing up form.

The amount you receive from these offers, will depend on how you work, how good your traffic is, and if you have the right traffic.  Usually, it is only converting with traffic from US, Canada, and UK.

Each offer has its own prerequisite depending on the merchant and what they are looking for.  Some may only require traffic from a specific country, like from the US, or to promote offers using social media or email, there are tons of examples.  The thing is, it is really important you check their requirements first before applying, as you need to hit their requirements to qualify to earn commissions.

In line with marketing the offers, you may be required to use the following:

  • PPC (Pay Per Click)
  • PPV (Pay Per View)
  • Post Peerfly Banners on Websites, Social Media, etc.
  • Market Peerfly Ads on Twitter
  • Email Marketing

How To Join Peerfly?

It is free to join Peerfly as an Affiliate, although it isn’t actually as simple as that…

How to Join Peerfly

Like I said, it is free to join Peerfly.  Bloggers or Marketers can just go to their website and complete the form.  But you will notice that the process says “Apply Today”.

There is an application process to join Peerfly which will require you to become verified to actually be able to promote their affiliate offers.

To start your application process, you will need to fill in the form and share a few personal details, like your address and contact details.

You will also be required to share with them how you plan on marketing their offers as well as describe the kind of traffic you will use to send these offers as part of this verification process.

It is this verification process that might prevent you from getting accepted and it is not a quick process.

I get why they want to do it, Peerfly describes it as a process to eliminate or reduce the number of fraudulent activities.  That means that every publisher (affiliate marketer) should comply with their requirements such as phone and email verification, tax information (for US residents), thorough marketing practices, and ID.

This process will take a few days, and if successful you will become verified.  Thus, being able to earn commissions.  Throughout this process, you will not be able to earn money:

This was taken from their FAQ, and it shows that you will not get any access to the platform, or any of the affiliate offers.

Here is a video that provides you more details about Peerfly’s verification process:

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

How Do You Get Paid From Peerfly?

Their payment schedule actually varies, and it also depends on how much income an affiliate marketer can earn in a month.

They offer weekly or even daily payments; although there is a fee if you decided to choose the daily payment method.

An affiliate marketer could also choose the Net15 weekly payment. This allows them to receive the money every Wednesday for any income that they have earned from 15 days before.

There is a minimum threshold of $50.  Once you have earned this much, you can choose as to whether you get:

  • Postal Check
  • PayPal
  • ACH (for US accounts only)
  • Wire Transfer

Who is Peerfly For?

From the outside, Peerfly appears to be a place for marketers, bloggers and those looking for a legitimate money making opportunity.

However…

Because of the verification process and the specific requirements they are looking for, we would say that there is a real chance you might find that you will not get accepted.

You will require a website with consistent and good levels of traffic, using the right marketing practices that are inline with how Peerfly wants, and you can comply with the company’s requirements.

If you have been doing affiliate marketing or blogging for a while and you are generating good levels of traffic, then Peerfly might work for you.

If you have just been introduced to the concept of affiliate marketing and you want to get started but need some help and guidance, with support at the same time then we would invite you to join our top recommended program.

It’s very easy to get started and most importantly, it is totally legitimate!  But it will require time, commitment and hard work on your part.  It is an actual marketing course that will teach you how to build a successful online business in any niche you so desire.

The good thing is that you will not only receive free training and support, but you will also be welcomed by a like-minded community of members, who are always willing to help and answer your questions, give advice and much more…

Is Peerfly a Scam?

Peerfly is a legitimate affiliate marketing network.  It has a proven list of merchants providing affiliate offers, and there is a real chance of making money from them.  You will have to create huge levels of traffic to your website and of course, you need to be attracting the right visitors.

If you fail to bring the right traffic to the offers, then you will find that this platform will not work for you.

Also, despite it being a free sign up, this doesn’t mean everyone will be approved to join.

If your traffic levels or marketing strategies are not what they require, you will find that you will not be able to make money from this website.

Saying that, it shows that this network is not for beginners unless you can create huge traffic levels just before joining Peerfly.

It is also important to remember that if you do pass this verification process, each individual offer has it’s own restriction.  So, you might get through the verification process, and find that you still don’t get accepted to specific offers.

What We Liked About Peerfly

Here is what we liked about Peerfly:

#1 Free Training

By signing up with Peerfly, you will get access to free training and tools, that are there to help you with CPA affiliate marketing.  You can use this training to improve your website.

This is an advantage as some programs will charge you a hefty amount for training that you could find for free on the internet.

#2 Great Support

From feedback we have seen, they provide great support to their members.  You can get in touch with their staff in case of any questions or concerns.

#3 Verification Process Means No Scams

Peerfly appears to be more selective about who they accept on their platform, this includes their merchants too.  When you compare that to platforms like ClickBank, where anyone can sell anything (scam or no), I like the fact that Peerfly is more selective.

What We Didn't Like About Peerfly

Here is what we didn’t like about Peerfly:

#1 Too Many Affiliates

When you factor in the numbers they describe on their website, you start to see an issue.  Peerfly has more than 250,000 publisher accounts, of which 75,000 are currently active.

Meanwhile, they only have around 25,000 clients and 8,000 offers.  This means that there is a lot of competition for you to score and promote their offers.  The clients can choose to accept you, or not.

#2 Definitely Not for Beginners

This is definitely not a platform for beginners.  If you are just getting started with Affiliate Marketing, then Peerfly is not a great starting point.

You and your marketing habits will be evaluated, and if you have a new website with little traffic then there is little point trying to go through their verification process.

If you cannot get through the verification process, then you will not be able to make money from this method.  If you are interested, I would focus more on how to increase your traffic levels before deciding to apply.

#3 Restrictions On Their Offers

Even if you are successful in getting verified and get access to the platform, there is still the fact that you may not pass the clients or merchants specifications.  They are looking for a specific target audience, you need to ensure you fit in with what they are after.

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

My Peerfly Review - Final Conclusion

Peerfly is a legitimate CPA Affiliate Marketing network.  It has been in the industry since 2009 and has a good reputation which it has maintained.  They use a verification process to protect its network of clients, and reduce the likelihood of scam products or offers.

However, the only drawback really is the restrictions from both the offers and the company itself.  If you are new to Affiliate Marketing, or haven’t got high traffic levels yet, then you need to go away and learn how to generate good traffic, before coming back and going through their lengthy verification process.

Peerfly is a solid option, if you are already established with good levels of traffic and have the right target audience for a specific offer available on the platform.
