What American Online Jobs Claims It Is...

American Online Jobs is a website where it offers people the opportunity to make money online, they claim you can do this by doing jobs that you can do from home.

They advertise that you will be making $1,600 a week with their online portal by just following their instructions and taking surveys…

OK, this is where I start to question this opportunity.  There isn’t particularly anything wrong with completing some surveys, but you will be lucky if you even earn a few dollars by doing that.  You might earn a $1 an hour doing them, maybe $2.  So, how exactly are you supposed to earn the remainder of that $1,600 I wonder?

If you have been questioning the legitimacy of their promises, and you should then you are on the right track.  Not everything is as it seems with the American Online Jobs business.

What American Online Jobs Is Really... A SCAM!

My thoughts are that if you are offering a “Job”, that is what people are expecting to find but that isn’t the case here.

They are not offering you a job, in no way, shape or form.

The website is a front to make money from you for every task they show you and you decide to explore.  They are using affiliate marketing, but don’t actually tell you that at any point.

We love affiliate marketing, when it is open and honest, and you know what is going on.  With the American Online Jobs system, they are offering you a way to earning $1,600 a week, but all they will be showing you is links to:

  • Online Surveys, that will never earn you that kind of money &
  • Get-Paid-To Sites, that again will not earn you that kind of money

Like I said, there is nothing wrong with promoting affiliate or referral links.  We do it on this website, but it is the way they are promoting them that is the problem.

If they would be open and honest from the start with more realistic earning goals, then I could understand it.  But they are just trying to make money by duping people who click on the different make money online opportunities that they show you. There is no guarantee you will earn any money, and no guarantee that the offers they show you are legit.

A lot of the reviews about American Online Jobs say that it is a scam, and I can totally relate to why they think that.  They are deceiving people into thinking American Online Jobs has been commissioned to promote these “jobs”, but that is simply not the case.

How Does American Online Jobs Work?

Let’s put the scam question aside for a minute and go through how American Online Jobs works.  They aren’t very forward about what kind of opportunities they are going to offer until you are inside, but as you go through the process of signing up you are going to find that the second part of the registration process is going to provide you with several money-making sites that are (supposedly) looking for referral agents.

In simple terms, it shows that American Online Jobs is pushing money-making opportunities being promoted by other websites.

This reminds me of other Survey Site Intermediaries like SurveySay or Big Spot.

Let’s get into the process to join American Online Jobs:

Step 1 – Pre-Screening Questions

Whomever is behind AOJ does do a sterling job of trying to make it look like a legit online job, the first stage you will need to complete is the pre-screen questions.  However, you can actually skip them which shows how much they really care if you fill them in or not.  But it does look quite professional at first, when you have these pre-screening questions:

AOJ-pre-screening-questions

Step 2 – Create a Free Account

Now, most people will go there isn’t anything particularly wrong with signing up with a free account… But, going through this stage is where it starts to get weird.

That is because, you will be actually be signing up for an Inbox Dollars account, and then another 7 accounts with 7 other websites before you get through this stage.

All of them will be earning the owners of American Online Jobs an affiliate commission and you totally scratching your head on what just happened.

referred-websites

These will include websites like Opinion Outpost (survey site), Pinecone Research (survey site), etc.

These are all websites that they are promoting, and they will earn commission for each one you sign up for.  They are not interested in whether you actually make any money from them or not, as they have earned money for you just signing up,

Once you have gone through all those hoops, they take you to their training area.  Yep, they offer you training but for what???

The Training Inside American Online Jobs

Another way they try and claim to be legit is by offering you training to be able to make money online.  They offer 8 training videos:

Video 1 – Orientation

This video is an orientation video that is basically asking you if you signed for the website that they were promoting.  (Pretty Pointless)

Ameican-Online-Jobs-Member-Training

Video 2 – Facebook Ads

This video is about showing you how to use Facebook to make money.  It goes through how to use Facebook Ads to promote your opportunity.  But what are you going to be promoting???  If you haven’t guesses already, you will be promoting American Online Jobs to others…

It is also not a free method of promoting offers, it is a paid method and if you don’t really know how to do it properly, an expensive option.

Video 3 – Craigslist

Again, this isn’t free, but they show you how to promote your job opportunity online via Craigslist

Video 4 – Referral Marketing

This video is all about what referral marketing is and how it is different to MLM.

Video 5 – YouTube

How to use YouTube to generate more leads.  Using YouTube is free, but they provide you a link to more in-depth training that talks about paid marketing on YouTube.

Video 6 & 7 – Instagram & Pinterest

Well, I put video but there is no video. Just a link to a different website that includes articles and videos on how to use Instagram or Pinterest to make money.

Video 8 – Introduction to Get Response

Here they introduce you to an email autoresponder.  GetResponse is a decent software, but it isn’t free.  You get a month free trial, then it will be $15 a month.

You will also be shown how to create your affiliate account with American Online Jobs to get your free website to be able to promote the scammy product you have just signed up with.

Once you have done this step, they will contact you within 24-48hrs to have you register your website with them.

Just from going through the training, I can see that this is going to cost you a lot more than it is ever going to bring in.  Paid Ads are not for beginners, they require an effective strategy to promote a legitimate program that has a proven success rate, you will be using it to promote a product that many consider to be a scam.

Just think about that for a minute, would you be comfortable promoting the product we have just been talking about to other people, or your family and friends?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

What We Liked About American Online Jobs

Here is what we liked about American Online Jobs:

#1 Surveys Can Earn You A Little Money

Whilst I would consider American Online Jobs to be a scam, you can earn some money by completing online scams.  But do not expect it to be to the amount they are talking about.  I think you will struggle to even make it worth your time, but manage your expectations

Umm…

I had to stretch to put the one above, there is nothing else positive about this product I feel.

What We Didn't Like About American Online Jobs

Here is what we didn’t like American Online Jobs:

#1 It’s a Scam

I say that because it is misleading people into thinking they are applying for a job.  They are not the ones offering anything really, they are just the middleman to other survey sites, etc.

The training is just a front for them to make more money as they will make money for any poor individual to bring through the door.

The promises of that kind of money from this system is also absurd.

Don’t get me wrong, people can earn big money from affiliate marketing, but by promoting genuine and decent products.  Not this BS.

They are just not being open and honest enough for you to fully know what you are signing up for.  That is a scam in my book.

#2 Who is the Owner?

Who is behind the American Online Jobs website?  We will probably never know, they have done a great job of hiding their identity, and that also sniffs of a scam.  If it was a legit and great opportunity, then they would be promoting it as their brand.  But they are not…

#3 Survey Site Middlemen

I have reviewed survey site intermediaries before, like SurveySay & Big Spot.  The audacity this website have to promote them as the ones to make you money, but they promote websites that are already free to join.  If you want to take surveys, then you could go direct to Inbox Dollars without any need to go through American Online Jobs.  They are playing on the fact you probably don’t know these sites already.

#4 Are You Happy to Promote a Scam?

The training is laughable and what’s more is you will be promoting what we consider to be a scam?  There has to be an element of trust and morality when making money, can you honestly feel ok promoting this scam to others for them to fall for the trap?

There are much better ways to make money online, affiliate marketing is genuine.  Don’t let anyone tell you that affiliate marketing doesn’t work.  Because it does, we use it to make money online.  With the right training, it can and does work.  But you need to be promoting the right product to the right audience and this is clearly not either.

The fact they try and convince you that you could be earning $1,600 a week with this program is laughable, but with the right training it can easily be possible.  Click HERE to learn more.

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

Is American Online Jobs a Scam?

I bet you can guess where my opinion is with American Online Jobs.  In my opinion, this is clearly a deceptive marketing ploy to get you thinking the only way to make money is by promoting a scam to other unsuspecting newbies.

They are totally misleading people into their affiliate links to make them money, so yes, I fully believe American Online Jobs is a SCAM!

Referral Marketing & Affiliate Marketing are both effective ways to make money online, but the training within this product will not help you to achieve your ambitions.

How We Make Money Online

This will totally depend on your aspirations.  If you are just looking for a little extra cash, then online surveys might be the way for you.  Swagbucks, Inbox Dollars & Prolific Surveys are all legit and could help you earn some money towards Christmas.

However, if you are looking for ways to replace your current job with an online one, then you will need to factor in that you are going to need to put some effort into making that a reality.

By that, I mean by creating your own online business.  It is totally realistic to earn that $1,600 a week.  But you’re going to have to put the time and effort in to make that a reality.

If you are serious about making that kind of money, then you need to be serious about the time and effort needed to achieve it.

Our top recommended way to make money online is Affiliate Marketing.  Forget about what American Online Jobs is using it for, it is our favourite way to make money for a number of reasons:

  1. It is FREE to get started
  2. You can choose any hobby or interest to get started
  3. You are building your own passive income to build financial freedom

  1. Wow, those behind this scam are really doing a great job trying to make people believe in this mess. I have been sucked into this type of scams before. Then, I never read reviews online before joining. Now I think I know better and one thing is that the owners of this type of platforms never show who they really are making people join and then nothing real. This American online jobs are just middle men to survey sites and for me, I don’t think surveys are good passive ways to make money online. There are surely other better ways.

    • Hey Willy,

thanks for checking out our blog.  There are plenty of scams out there trying to seduce people with untold fortunes, but in reality the way to earn good money is to work hard for it.  Anything that sounds too good to be true, often is.

      thanks

  3. So, american online jobs just wan to take advantage of us all to get more traffic to their website in order to get note people to sign up through them while getting our details with no benefits attached to them at all. Wow! I would never think of joining this platform ever. This is one of the worst I have seen. The risks associated with joining them is really too much than to overlook because there is a chance that one can get their personal details sold out and that is bad. The owner is not even identified so, there is no one to be held accountable for any issues that erupt through the use of their platform. Thanks so much for this post

    • Hey Shelley,

that is a fantastic point, just by entering your email address they can pocket more money just by selling it onto an email list.  Not a great idea at all.

      Thanks

  4. Thank you for revealing yet another online scam. It reminds of the pre-Internet days when you’d pay for a packet of materials to help you make lots of money. You’d send in a bunch of applications to companies who weren’t hiring. Big scam. From snail mail to immediate gratification, all these people want is money, and they do not care who they are breaking to get it. 🙁

I wish you all the best in continuing to advise people on where to go and where to NOT go. 🙂

  5. Hi

It always upsets me when I see programmes like this, where you have to part with your hard earned cash and to be offered basically get fresh air in return.  I do not like them and cannot believe that they are allowed to get away with it. Taking money and offer nothing in return.   The spin they use I always find amazing.

The amount of scams online is amazing and growing everyday. We all need people like you to expose them, as it is impossible to go through all of them and to know which to sign up for. Your review is very much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Antonio
