Savage Affiliates 2.0 Review Summary
Product Name: Savage Affiliates
Founder: Franklin Hatchett
Product Type: Affiliate Marketing Training Course
Price: $197 to $297 + hidden costs
Best For: Those Looking to Start an Affiliate Marketing Business
Summary: Savage Affiliates is a comprehensive Affiliate Marketing training course. It takes you through an over-shoulder step-by-step training program to help you get started with affiliate marketing, and ultimately make money online. Whilst the training does appear to be comprehensive, there is little evidence that students are getting huge results and some of the success stories to be questionable. Franklin tends to rely more on hype and misleading claims to sell his products, which lowers the opinion of what looks like a good course. There are also a few hidden costs that a complete beginner might not have factored in, so don’t expect this one-off cost to be the end of the spending.

What is Savage Affiliates?
Savage Affiliates 2.0 is an Affiliate Marketing Training Course. It was created by Franklin Hatchett, who we will discuss in a moment. There are a number of Affiliate Marketing course out there, like Commission Hero, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, and Wealthy Affiliate.
Savage Affiliates was originally launched in 2018, and has since had a couple of major updates in that time. The current version is Savage Affiliates 2.0., which is the latest version for 2020.
The Savage Affiliate course includes:
- 30 Hours of Over-The-Shoulder Training
- A Private Facebook Group for Members
- Training on All Different Types of Affiliate Marketing
- Case Studies Showcasing Certain Methods
The training is delivered in a number of video trainings where Franklin shows you how to complete the specific task he is showcasing making it easy to follow. He also covers off both free and paid traffic generation techniques.
Let’s tell you a little more about the guy behind Savage Affiliates, Who is Franklin Hatchett?
Who is Franklin Hatchett?
The first thing you should know is that Franklin Hatchett is a very successful online marketer. This image shows Franklin holding an award for earning more than $1 million as an affiliate of ClickFunnels.
He also boasts an impressive record on ClickBank, which is an Affiliate Network, so it is safe to say he knows a thing or two about how to make money online.
Here is how Franklin describes himself on one of his websites:
Franklin Hatchett also has a huge following on his YouTube channel, with over 343K subscribers:
Franklin Hatchett has another online course called Ecom Elites, where he focuses on building an e-commerce business.
The best we can tell, he makes most of his money from selling his online courses; Ecom Elites & Savage Affiliates. He also tends to push affiliate products within his training course, so in turn he earns money when people buy into the products he promotes, which are:
- BlueHost – Website Hosting
- ClickFunnels – Landing Page Builder
- GetResponse – Email AutoResponder
- Shopify – Build an Online Store
This forms part of the hidden costs within the course, as the platform is only training and doesn’t offer any of the tools that you would need to action the techniques Hatchett will show you.
Inside Savage Affiliates
Let’s go through what training is included within Savage Affiliates. Like I said, it is comprehensive and includes over-the-shoulder shot videos that show you what Franklin is doing as he is talks you through the steps.
There are ten modules, that cover off all the different aspects of affiliate marketing. Here are the ten modules:
- Affiliate Marketing Introduction
- Affiliate Products to Promote
- Building Your Website Asset
- SEO Google Traffic Training
- The Email Automation Academy
- Free Traffic
- Paid Traffic
- Student Case Study
- Amazon Affiliate Marketing
- Bonuses
There is an upsell within Savage Affiliates, and it provides you with the following “bonuses”:
- Done-For-You Affiliate Systems
- Launch Jacking & Web Hosting Blueprint
- The Funnel Academy
Let’s now go through what each of the modules actually covers.
Affiliate Marketing Introduction
This module starts off with the basics for a complete beginner as to what affiliate marketing actually is, and how it works.
Affiliate Products to Promote
This module focuses on choosing affiliate products to promote. It talks a little about problem solving and how to find lucrative products, but is pretty standard stuff.
Building Your Website Asset
Franklin shows you how to get started with your affiliate marketing blog. It will help you build and design your website in a step-by-step guide, it also focuses on how to do legal pages right. It is common for affiliates to get this wrong, so it is a good topic to cover. You will get recommended to use BlueHost to get your website.
SEO Google Traffic Training
If you don’t realise how important SEO is, then you need to know it is one of the most important aspects of an online business. Getting free traffic from Google is a major step to any online business.
In this module you will learn about SEO, you will learn about:
- Track your keywords
- Sort out website speed
- Have content relevance in your blog
- Do on-pageSEO
- Outbound & Interlinking
- Get Social Signals
- Build Foundation Links
- Get Guest Posts
- Get Editorial Links
- Use PBN’s
My concern is a little to do with the PBN method talked about here, he doesn’t explicitly say to use it, but it is definitely black-hat SEO which could have detrimental effects on your blog. I would also say that this module isn’t as comprehensive on SEO as it could be and some of the elements could be too much for a beginner, or not detailed enough… Franklin also discusses keywords, but you require a keyword research tool to achieve that.
The Email Automation Academy
Email Marketing is still highly relevant and necessary to any online business owner. This module covers off Email Marketing. You will learn the following topics:
- Build an opt-in form
- Create an Email List
- Send Out Broadcasts if you want to
- Build out automation sequences
- Write good emails
- Get your emails delivered
- Advanced automation segments
Again, I would suggest the information is not as detailed as it could be, and expect to be sold on the GetResponse email autoresponder. It is a good option, but will require a monthly subscription. It will help you get started, but might leave gaps that you would need to find elsewhere to tailor it to your campaigns.
Free Traffic Training
This module will teach you how to get free traffic to your blog and affiliate offers. It covers:
- Create a traffic-generating Facebook profile
- Build and grow a Facebook group
- Start and grow your YouTube channel
- How to rank YouTube videos
- How to get videos without making them
- Do YouTube keyword research
- Upload and optimise videos
- How to get suggested videos
- Use forums for traffic
- Use Quora for traffic
- Use Instagram for traffic
This is all useful topics and shows great value in this module and all leads to free traffic.
Paid Traffic Training
This training module focuses on two routes to harness Paid Traffic. These are Facebook Ads & Google Ads. Both are effective if you can understand who your target audience is. The important thing is to spend less than you make with advertising. Franklin uses paid ads effectively, so I am confident his training would be quite comprehensive on this topic.
Bonuses
Within the bonuses, you will gain the following stuff:
- Franklin & Student Case Studies
- Viking Blog Training
- Amazon Affiliate Marketing Module
- Email Authority
- Instagram Excellence
There is one upsell within Savage Affiliates, which is the additional $100. Here is what you will get:
- Web Hosting Commission Blueprint
- Affiliate Launch Jacking Commissions Blueprint
- Franklin’s Done-For-You Affiliate Marketing Funnels
- ClickFunnels Module
Done-For-You Systems
These are three done-for-you campaigns claimed to make affiliate marketing easier for you. There are funnels for:
- Online Marketing Niche
- Health Niche
- Click Funnels Promotion
You have to consider that you will require ClickFunnels to use these funnels. He also shows you how to drive traffic to them, but you must know that these will typical depend on paid traffic routes. He will show you how to use Facebook Ads to drive traffic to your landing pages.
Launch Jacking & Web Hosting Blueprint
In this module, Franklin will show you how to use Launch Jacking to make money online. Launch Jacking is a process where you create a product review for a product that hasn’t even launched yet. You post content related to these programs just before they launch to get to the top of the search results as people start searching for it.
It is a technique that works for people, but my problem tends to sit with the people who write the reviews. The main reason is that these reviewers don’t write an objective review, they just copy what the sales pitch said and doesn’t actually tell people what the product will do or how it works.
We have seen many people promote anything and everything with a 10/10 rating, even if it was legit, not great or even a scam.
Just be mindful if you do, profiting from someone being scammed is not a good thing.
The Funnel Academy
This module covers off ClickFunnels. It is showing you how to promote ClickFunnels using a Done-For-You Sales Funnel that you can promote using Facebook Ads, Google Ads, or from your Blog using SEO.
You can check out the video review below. He seems reasonably balanced and gives you a good insight into each of the modules:
Is Savage Affiliates a Scam?
There is little evidence to show that Savage Affiliates is a scam. Whilst there isn’t an endless stream of evidence showing students being successful. There is enough information to show that students can earn money from following what Franklin is sharing within his training course. Franklin is also a very successful marketer, and it shows throughout his training.
The fact he relies on hype to shift his product can understandable lead to people believing that it might be a scam. When you also factor in those who are promoting Savage Affiliates and giving a one-sided review, can also make people worry.
But on balance, we can say that is a solid option for those looking to learn affiliate marketing from one of the best in the industry. Is it our top recommended training platform for beginners, I wouldn’t say that it is and we will go through that as we continue our review.
Bottom line, Savage Affiliates is a legitimate training program that does teach you effective marketing techniques.
Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?
How Much Does Savage Affiliates Cost?
When you consider the cost of Savage Affiliates, that is a good point. There are course out there that are not this comprehensive that are costing you thousands of dollars, but Savage Affiliates is relatively cheap.
There are two prices points; Standard is $197 (one-time fee) and Super is $297 (one-time fee).
If you don’t feel like you are ready to sign up straight to the Super package, apparently you can start with the standard membership and upgrade for $100 at a later date.
What About the Refund Policy?
Savage Affiliate operates what is called an Action-Based refund policy. I get why they do that, and it helps them show that you need to be committed to following through with the training to want to sign up.
What this action-based refund policy means is that to be eligible for a refund, you need to have completed at least 50% of the course. You cannot sign up do a lesson, and then ask for your money back.
That is why you need to be serious about whether this is the right platform for you, as there is no free trial. If you sign up, you need to complete the entire course and be willing to follow Franklins methods.
There is a caveat, that if after 30 days you have completed 30% of the course, you can then request a refund.
What About These Hidden Costs?
Ok, I mentioned earlier that there are a few hidden costs. The only reason I say they are hidden is because a complete beginner might not have factored them into the bargain when deciding on whether to join or not.
First thing to know is that with Savage Affiliates, you are only getting training. Unlike Wealthy Affiliate where you get training, a free website, research tools and endless support, you are going to need to go elsewhere to actually achieve what Franklin sets out in his training.
So, whilst the training is a low price option in a world of expensive courses. Your monthly expenditure could be higher if you are only being taught a specific way as you are with Savage Affiliates.
I have noticed a number of the reviews for Savage Affiliates gloss over this fact (mainly as they are an affiliate of the course and will profit from any of these as it is part of the funnel).
Let me list the potential additional costs, using the programs that Franklin is promoting and is an affiliate of:
- BlueHost – Domain/Hosting for your own website ($4+ per month)
- ClickFunnels – Landing Page Builder & Funnel Software ($97 per month after a 14-day trial)
- GetResponse – Email Autoresponder ($15 per month after 30-day trial)
- Thrive Leads ($67)
- Ahrefs ($7 for 7 days, then it is $99 per month
- The cost of Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Solo Ads, & YouTube Ads
Look, the majority of training providers will advise you that there is a need to invest money into your business and invest in similar products or services. But the problem is that it is a good thing to be open with someone BEFORE they invest into your course.
P.S. Our Top Recommended Training Platform provides everything you need to get started, including step-by-step training, website hosting, research tools and a network of like-minded entrepreneurs to help you out. It is free to get started and only $49/month to go full-time!
What We Liked About Savage Affiliates
Here is what we liked about Savage Affiliates:
#1 Easy to Follow Training
The training within Savage Affiliates is really easy to follow. Using an over-the -shoulder video series to talk you through and show you the techniques to use to achieve the specific module.
The training also overs all aspects of affiliate marketing, both free and paid techniques.
#2 The Price is Good
There are a ton of courses out there that cost a lot more than what Savage Affiliates does. $197 to learn affiliate marketing with techniques that work is a good price which offers you a lot of value. I have seen similar courses that cost over $1,000 or more.
Starting an online business does require an element of investment, but $197 is not a great deal in the grand scheme of things.
#3 Students Are Making Money!
There are real testimonials within the platform showcasing how much they have learned from following Hatchett’s training. Although, the majority of earnings are coming from promoting ClickFunnels, rather than from an affiliate marketing business. But here are some of the results we found:
I should point out that there is not a huge folder of testimonials like he says in the sales video. I also notice that the majority of the earning examples he showcases come from promoting ClickFunnels, rather than from starting a typical affiliate marketing business…
P.S. Our Top Recommended Training Platform provides everything you need to get started, including step-by-step training, website hosting, research tools and a network of like-minded entrepreneurs to help you out. It is free to get started and only $49/month to go full-time!
What We Didn't Like About Savage Affiliates
Here is what we didn’t like about Savage Affiliates:
#1 Folders of Results? Not Really…
Franklin claims that there are folders of results showing the achievements of those who bought Savage Affiliates, but I wouldn’t particularly say there is a huge number of success stories. We counted a total of 17, which is actually quite a small number. The screenshot we showed above has actually been used 3 times within the sales video or promotion of this product as proof of success.
Which is either because Franklin has been a little lazy, or there aren’t a huge number of success stories from people learning from this course.
There are also examples where you just see generic claims of success from Franklin’s course, but as he owns a number of different course, it could be argued that they may not actually be talking about Savage Affiliates, or maybe Ecom Elites, or any of his other course. See examples of generic praise below:
There is no actually reference to the course, or that any of them have actually made any money from the course. Franklin has a habit of using the same testimonials across his different course. See the two images below: One is from the Savage Affiliates sales video, the other is from the Ecom Elites video.
#2 Are All the Success Stories Real?
There are examples where the success stories could be classed as questionable. Here is an example. This testimonial is from a student called Brent James:
Apparently, this same testimonial has been on the Savage Affiliates sales page since at least August 2019.
But when you check out a video on Franklin’s YouTube channel, Brent James reports earning only $30,000 a year in December 2019?
And, that $30,000 per year doesn’t actually come from Affiliate Marketing. It comes from running a social media marketing agency, which is definitely not a passive income stream.
It could be argued that he earns an additional $10K per month from Affiliate Marketing, in addition to his agency.
But then why in a video he recorded in April 2020, Brent states that his agency is his main source of income.
Let’s talk about another example…
This success story is from the sales video on the Savage Affiliates sale page. It claims “that they were making mon money, and now he is making $300 per day, every day, with affiliate marketing commissions”.
But if you take a closer look at the screenshot, you will see that he talks about he is spending about $2500 on advertising, to achieve those results. Given that his earnings only come to $2020, it shows he is not actually making a profit.
If you work out the math, he is losing $100 a day, rather than making $300 per day!!
This is a reality at times when you use paid advertising. But this is being used as a success story, that is the issue we have.
If he was having as many success stories as he claims he is, then why would he use questionable ones?
#3 Franklin Uses Hype to Sell His Courses
Franklin makes a number of bold claims throughout his sales video and many of his videos on YouTube also use the same tactic of making you think that earning $500 per day (very quickly) is a reality, when the truth is far from it.
It could also be considered that he is using this course to get you to buy products that he is going to profit from. When you think about the products that we mentioned earlier, this will all be via Franklins affiliate link. So, if you did follow his methods and signed up to all the additional programs he recommends in his course, he will be earning money from it.
When, you cannot actually guarantee that there will be proven success with affiliate marketing. Franklin does use a number of disclaimers to highlight that income is not guaranteed and the success stories are not proof. But it still comes back to, that the majority of people will not read the disclaimers when they are new, so they will focus solely on what the presenter is telling you… And Franklin is telling you that you can make a ton of money, quickly.
#3 Hidden Costs That Lead to Franklin’s Income
This is something that you might not consider when first signing up. It looks like you are getting a great training program that will help you earn affiliate income, but to achieve the strategies that Franklin is going to teach you, you will need to buy additional programs:
- BlueHost – Domain/Hosting for your own website ($4+ per month)
- ClickFunnels – Landing Page Builder & Funnel Software ($97 per month after a 14-day trial)
- GetResponse – Email Autoresponder ($15 per month after 30-day trial)
- Thrive Leads ($67)
- Ahrefs ($7 for 7 days, then it is $99 per month
- The cost of Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Solo Ads, & YouTube Ads
All of which will have affiliate links, which will mean that if you go and buy into these platforms (they are all legit, and good products) but will benefit Franklin and he will earn from you buying into these platforms.
That is how he can film YouTube videos claiming he makes money on autopilot and make you believe that is how you will be earning money.
My point is that affiliate marketing is not as simple as he is making. When you get to the point where he is, it become easier to use your earnings to make to look great for a newbie to sign up with.
But always do your research, as there are always details that you might have missed.
But when you factor in that the cost of the course is relatively low, you could argue that the running costs of your business will be much higher than it needs to be when getting started.
I got started with Wealthy Affiliate, which was free to get started and costs $49/month to go full-time. Other than that, there was no other cost besides the cost of a domain name (which was $15/year).
But with Savage Affiliates, and if you buy into all of the products you will be spending $215 a month. Then there is the additional costs of paid advertising, which is the only way really to get quicker results. But this again isn’t guaranteed as it is a little like trial and error.
Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?
My Savage Affiliates Review - Final Conclusion
Savage Affiliates is a legitimate training course that will teach you how to get started with affiliate marketing. It covers all of the different ways you can go with affiliate marketing, and covers both free and paid ways of generating traffic.
Regarding the price, it offers a lot of value for a relatively low price. Having said that, you do need to consider that you will need to spend additional money to follow the exact strategies that Franklin teaches within the course. I also feel it is odd that there are not a high number of success stories considering how many people are actually joining Savage Affiliates.
Overall, I think Franklin Hatchett’s Savage Affiliates offers a lot of value for $197, and you will learn the basics of affiliate marketing and some more advanced techniques that Franklin himself uses. But if you are still unsure about putting any money down on a course, or you don’t have the money to spend $197, you may want to consider our top recommended training platform that is free to get started.
Savage Affiliates Vs. Wealthy Affiliate
After reviewing Savage Affiliates, we do feel there is a lot of value within their training platform and that the price offers a lot of value, when you consider there are course out there that will set you back $997 or more.
But, we are here to help newbies get started with affiliate marketing in the right way, and that doesn’t necessarily mean signing up with a platform that will expect you to hand over a ton of money on something you are not entirely sure about.
That is why our top recommended training platform is Wealthy Affiliate. A complete beginner can get started with Wealthy Affiliate, for no cost. You will get access to a step-by-step training program that will show you how to start your own affiliate marketing business in a passion of your own. You will get access to a research tool and all of this for no fee.
Take time to go through the training and see if affiliate marketing is actually what you want to do. It is not as simple as writing one blog post and then you will earn money. There is a lot of hard work required to turn this into a living, regardless of what gurus like Franklin say.
If Affiliate Marketing then seems like the right thing for you, then you can decide to go premium with Wealthy Affiliate (which is $49/month) but gives you full access to a huge catalog of training and a website builder, plus research tools and a whole bunch of support.
Or, you can leave Wealthy Affiliate (which hasn’t cost you anything) and you could always come back and try out Savage Affiliates.
See a quick comparison below:
We leave that up to you to decide, we want to help people and that is why we offer our insights into these programs in our reviews.
Affiliate Marketing is our top recommended business model for anyone who wants to earn money online, but it is not as simple or as easy as some of these guys state. But if you want to find a training platform that has your back at all times, with a proven network of over a million members, then Wealthy Affiliate is a solid choice. Here is a link to our review, if you would like to learn more…
