What is Revital U?

Revital U is an MLM or Multi-Level Marketing company that sells a range of coffee-related products.  They are pitched as products that are specially formulated to help users lose weight and have healthier bodies in the process.

There is a lack of information about when, or how Revital U got started on its website.  But from what we found out in our research, it got started sometime in 2016.  With Andrew McWilliams being the CEO of the company.

Something we found interesting was that McWilliams was also the CEO of the now-defunct Momentis.  This was an MLM side of a gas and energy company.  He has also been an affiliate for ACN, previously, which is another MLM company, and also LuxuriLife, which is a high-ticket recruitment scheme.

We also found reports of Pat Johnstone being the owner.  He also states he the Revital U president on his LinkedIn profile.

You can check out this 2-minute video to learn more about what the company is about…

As Revital U is an MLM company, it naturally brings with it questions about whether it could be a pyramid scheme… So, let’s look into that now…

Is Revital U a Pyramid Scheme

The Good News is that Revital U is not a pyramid scheme.  It is perfectly possible for their members to earn money from selling their products alone, without having to recruit.

Although, it is an option to earn money through recruitment as part of their business model.  Whilst it means that it isn’t the only option, which would make it an outright pyramid scheme, it is still worth understanding the answer to this question…

Could Revital U be a pyramid scheme in disguise?

What’s A Pyramid Scheme?

A pyramid scheme is a company that pays its members for recruiting new members into the scheme.  It is the only way of making money from their business model.  There is no product or service you are selling.

This model has been made illegal in most countries around the world, as it is impossible for all of the members to earn an income from the way it is operated.  As soon as new recruits stop coming through the door, there is no more money for members to earn.

There are completely unsustainable and will only be in operation a short time.  The diagram below shows how there are just not enough people in the world to make this work for anyone other than those at the top of the pyramid.

pyramid scheme

There may be a few who make money with this business model, but are doing nothing but constantly recruiting people with the promise of huge incomes with a model they know will not do that for them.

They basically sell a dream to people, who soon find out they have lost their money and aren’t able to recruit anyone themselves, so walk away with no money.

There are similarities with MLMs to a pyramid scheme, as recruitment is the best option to earn a passive income with their model.  It doesn’t make it an outright pyramid scheme, but some do fall into the bracket of being a pyramid scheme in disguise as it is really hard to make money just by selling their products.

Before we go into a little more detail about that, this 5-minute video will help you understand how to spot a pyramid scheme in disguise…

So, where does Revital U sit?  Are their members finding success just by selling their products?

Success is Rare at Revital U

Success isn’t just rare at Revital U, it is rare within the majority of MLM opportunities out there…

Did you know that between 72% and 99% of MLM members aren’t making money, or even losing money?

Why, you may ask?

Well, the main reason is the hefty sales quota their members are expected to achieve each month.  They put a sales quota on you every month.  You need to achieve that sales quota to remain active, so you need to sell a certain number of products every month to be eligible for any commissions.

To avoid losing your active status, if you don’t achieve the sales, is to buy the products yourself.  But when starting out, this can mean you are buying a whole lots of stuff in the hope of selling it later down the line.

Your sponsor will typically suggest that the way to avoid doing this is the recruit members into your downline.  But this is where an MLM business opportunity then starts looking like a possible pyramid scheme in disguise…

How Does Revital U Work?

Revital U is an MLM company that sells a range of coffee slimming products.  They also offer an affiliate program where you can join as a member.

By joining as a member, you can then buy the products at wholesale prices to then sell to your friends and family at higher retail prices.

It sounds like it is a good deal for both parties, but what it means is that Revital U saves millions of dollars in marketing campaigns, and they leave all the hard work of bringing their brand to the attention of others to their members.

Meaning hardly anyone has heard of the brand, which makes it even harder for you to sell them on, especially a the coffee market is one of the most crowded markets out there…

Revital U Product Line

If you are serious about considering an MLM opportunity, you first need to get your head around the products that they are offering.  You need a solid understanding of the products they are offering.  This way, when you are trying to sell these, you know what you are selling.

Here are some of the best sellers, that Revital U sells…

If you are really into knowing what this company is about, then it’s best you understand their products. This way, you’ll know what they are selling, as well as the kind of business opportunity you’re going to get if ever you become one of their members.

Here are some of Revital U’s best sellers:

  • Smart Coffee Tub ($49)– A tub of coffee that boosts your energy, curbs your appetite, and improves your focus on whatever it is you’re doing.
  • Smart Coffee Sticks Box ($54.99)– This has the same components as the previous product, but it’s in stick form. This boosts your energy, curbs your appetite, and also helps you focus on your daily activities.
  • Smart Caps ($49.99)– A dietary supplement that improves brain function, making you smarter and more focused. This also gives you better sleep.

The products sound great, right?  But you should know that the coffee market is a really crowded one, and there are many different MLM companies all offering very similar products that all claim to have the same benefits.

Here are just some of the MLM companies that sell the same, or very similar products:

But still, we should look at whether there is something that makes Revital U stand out?  To do that, let’s look at their flagship product…

Revital U Flagship Product – Smart Mocha Bundle ($59.99)

This Smart Mocha bundle is one of their most popular products and includes their top coffee and cocoa products.  This gives you the focus and energy you need to keep on doing your daily activites.

Now, this is probably the question you want answered the most…

Can You Make Money with Revital U?

It is possible to make money with their business model, but it’s going to be really hard!

The very few that will be earning an income from promoting and selling Revital U are able to due to working like full-time sales managers.  They will be working full-time to earn what will be less than the minimum wage.

The hardest pill to swallow when checking out this opportunity is that Revital U doesn’t publish an income disclosure statement.  So, there is no way of knowing if any of their members are earning an income, or how many of them are losing money.

I would suggest this is down to them not wanting you to know that the typical MLM statistics that show 99% of members are losing money reflects what is happening here…

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

How To Make Money with Revital U?

Revital U is an MLM company, so that brings with it the two usual routes for you to earn money with their affiliate program.  These are:

  1. Buying their products at wholesale prices and selling them at retail prices
  2. Build a downline team by recruiting new members into the business

Please note, that you don’t actually earn money from recruiting members.  This would make it a pyramid scheme.  You only earn commissions and bonuses based on their sales and not for actually recruiting them.

Getting Started with Revital U

When compared to many other MLM opportunities, Revital U is actually a reasonable price to get started with.  You’ll need to pay a $50 fee to sign up as a member and be able to buy their products at a discounted wholesale price.

Although, there are costs that you may not immediately be aware of… Let’s talk about them now.

Revital U Monthly Costs

This is the hidden element of the costs that you may not be told by your sponsor.  To remain active and therefore eligible you have a sales quota to achieve, which is 100 PV each month.

This means you need to buy products each month to the level of 100 PV to be eligible for commissions and bonuses.  This means you need to spend $100 each month on products.

So, the costs for the first year will look like:

  • $50
  • $100 x 12 months

Minimum Costs/Expenses for 1st Year = $1,250

This is before you take into account any other expenses that go with running a business, including marketing, fuel, training and all the other stuff that goes with it.

P.S. This program enabled us to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream.  It’s Free to get started and costs only $49/month to go full-time!

Revital U Compensation Plan

MLM companies love to go out of their way to make their compensation plans look really complicated.  It makes it look like there are loads of different ways for you to make money with them, when really it comes down to just the 2 ways we described earlier.

Don’t worry about the complexity, we are going to try and keep it simple enough for you to understand.

Basically, Revital U offers you 3 main ways of making money with their compensation plan…

These are:

  1. Retail Commissions – Earn between 5% and 25% commissions depending on the number of recruits you have in your downline. The lowest tier is 2 to 9 members, and the highest tier is recruiting more than 25 members
  2. New Customer Bonus – Earn between $50 and $500 bonus depending on the number of recruited members you have. Recruit 5 to earn a $50 bonus. If you manage to recruit more than 25, you can earn a $500 bonus
  3. Rank Achievement Bonus – Earn $250 to $50,000 commission depending on the rank you get promoted too
revitalu-compensation-plan-ranks

I know… It still sounds really confusing!  But that is how MLM companies want it to be.

They make it sound like there are endless possibilities to make money, but the reality is that this isn’t how it really works.

The reality is that there are only two ways to make money with Revital U and those are:

  1. Sell their coffee products
  2. Recruit members into the downline

But did you notice that the 3 main ways to make money all involve recruiting members?

You can learn more about their compensation plan with this 5-minute video below…

Is Revital U a Scam?

No, Revital U isn’t a scam.  They sell a range of legitimate products.  They also pay their members on time like they say they do.

So, why do members end up calling it a scam?  Well, the problem is that it is a really difficult business model and most have been brought in without knowing all of the facts.  They soon realise that they are not making money, but actually losing money.

They can only take this for so long, before they end up leaving it behind and calling it a scam.  If they knew about the monthly sales quota, this might have been averted.

Trying to keep up with the sales quota is a tough ask, especially if you are not experienced in sales or recruitment.

The rest of our review will help you get all of the other details you need to know about whether this is the right opportunity for you…

Just to be completely transparent with you, I’m not a distributor of Revital U, nor do I endorse Revital U in any way.  I have researched the website, testimonials, and information available on the internet to get the details about what this program genuinely does.    I do this, as I have been caught out by a scam in the past, and am trying to help others avoid a similar fate…

What We Liked About Revital U

Here’s what we liked about Revital U:

#1 Affordable Subscription

When you consider the subscription to become a Revital U member is just $50, it definitely falls into the bracket of being one of the affordable MLM opportunities out there.

Considering the amount you will save by buying the products at wholesale, it does make it a good price.

#2 Positive Product Reviews

Through our research, we found many product reviews and comments from customers saying that their products are healthy and effective.

It does appear that their coffee products do indeed offer some health benefits.  Other comments also stated that they are effective in boosting energy levels, and improving the mental state of their users.

It will definitely make it easier to sell products that do actually do what they are claimed to do.

What We Didn't Like About Revital U

Here’s what we didn’t like about Revital U:

#1 Expensive Products

One thing that MLM companies always have in common is the fact they feel like they can charge ridiculously high prices for their products, when there are cheaper, and often better products elsewhere.  You have to remember that if you want to make this work, you are going to have to sell these products to others.

People aren’t willing to pay over the odds, but that is the expectation with an MLM product line.

With Revital U, your customers will be expected to pay between $50-$60 for slimming coffee.  When there are so many alternatives online.

#2 Lacks Vital Information

Revital U doesn’t publish an income disclosure statement.

This is a concern for us, as it makes us wonder what they are trying to hide from you?  In our experience, this means they don’t want to show you a report that proves that their members are not making any money.  Or they don’t care about publishing one.

Either way, it shows a complete lack of transparency and is a huge worry.

#3 Hidden Monthly Expenses

To remain active and eligible for commissions, you need to sell 100 PV every month or sell $100 worth of product every month.

Achieving this is going to be a really hard thing to do, especially when just starting out.  But what you have to realise is that if you don’t sell $100 worth of product every month, you will be expected to buy it instead.

So, basically you won’t be selling products but still have to keep on buying them in the hope that you do sell some and can earn some commissions or bonuses based on those sales.

This is why the biggest customer group for MLM’s is their own distributors.  The company doesn’t rely on ad campaigns, they just rely on their members staying members long enough for the company to buy loads of products.

This is why 99% of MLM members are losing money, and yet the company will publish reports showing their profit margins are huge.  But at the expense of their members.

#4 Is Revital U a Pyramid Scheme in Disguise?

One of the signs that makes us thing an MLM could be operating like a pyramid scheme in disguise is when they have that monthly sales quota.

Thing about it, you have to commit to spending $100 a month until you are able to start selling enough to not worry about where you are going to store it all.  But at the start, you won’t be using enough of the product yourself to warrant that expense.

But the only real way of avoiding this monthly expense is to start recruiting a team, so that they are the ones that then have to buy $100 worth of product.

But then this is what that model starts to look like:

pyramid-scheme

So many MLM members are losing money, as the company and sponsors who recruit people don’t give them the full picture before they join.

There will be 1% that do make a living from it, but often at the expenses of your friends and family who are left endlessly buying products until they realise they aren’t going to make their money back.  So they cut their loses.

It’s sad but is often the case when it comes to MLM.

#5 Product Complaints

When we research a company, it is good to see what others are thinking about the business opportunity, and we checked out the BBB website.  There are a number of complaints about the products themselves, and a couple about the business opportunity.  You will find screenshots below:

is-revitualu-a-scam-complaint-3

It’s going to be a concern for customers is they find it difficult to cancel a subscription, or even lose a job due to a failed drug test.

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

My Revital U Review - Final Conclusion

At the end of the day, Revital U is a legitimate MLM company that sells a range of healthy coffee products.    They seem to get some positive reviews about their products.

But when it comes to their business opportunity, it just shows the only real way of making money from it is to recruit a huge downline team.

This makes it like a pyramid scheme in disguise.  Hidden monthly expenses making their members their biggest customer group and trying to sell overpriced products makes it a really difficult route to earning an income from it.

This will not lead to a path of financial freedom, regardless of what their website or their sponsors are trying to sell to you.

If a sponsor starts talking about how great it is, ask them how many sales have they made and it might shock you to understand they are trying to recruit you, as they are themselves losing money.

Definitely something to think about.

How We Make Money Online

I’m not a fan of MLM, not because it’s illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and expensive costs involved.

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is our top recommended business model for anyone looking to make money online

The reasons are simple…

  • You can promote anything you want and aren’t restricted to only promote products from one MLM company
  • You don’t have to recruit anyone to make money
  • You never need to sell to your friends and family
  • It’s free to get started

In fact, with affiliate marketing we’ve been able to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream.  If you want to learn more, click here.
