Farmasi Review Summary

Product Name: Farmasi

Founder: Dr. C. Tuna

Product Type: Personal Care & Beauty MLM Company

Price: $19.99 for Starter Kit

Best For: Those Capable of Marketing Beauty Products Effectively

is Farmasi a Scam - Company Logo

Summary:  Farmasi is an MLM company selling beauty and personal care products.  It has seen a lot of growth lately and is relatively new in the US.

In terms of MLM’s, Farmasi is one of the better options out there.  Their products are ethically made, the price is pretty good, and the commission rate is 50% which again, is good.  Despite the positives, there is still the fact that they are an MLM and historically, they are extremely difficult to succeed with.

This is shown with the low-income potential with their business opportunity.  My advice would be to only join if you already have an audience to sell these products to, or someone who is dead set and knows how to build an audience to sell to.

What is Farmasi?

Farmasi is an MLM or Multi-Level Marketing company that is based in Turkey.  It sells a wide range of products related to personal care and beauty/cosmetics.

Farmasi started up in 2004, meaning it has been around for 16 years which is a good sign for an MLM company.

It offers you a “direct selling” opportunity to people who like to earn an income from selling Farmasi’s product line to consumers.

Here is a short 4-minute video explaining a little more about Farmasi:

They describe it as a direct selling opportunity, but as you read our review you will soon realise that Farmasi is actually an MLM or Multi-Level Marketing company.  This doesn’t make it a bad thing, but it is important to know this as there is a distinct difference.

Let’s clarify that difference now…

What is the Difference Between Direct Selling & MLM?

Direct sales or direct selling is a business model where an independent “distributor” sells the company’s products to other people.  They typically earn a commission from this sale.

But MLM companies offer a second route on top of this.  They will allow you to promote their products for a commission.  But they will also allow you to earn commissions from recruiting more distributors beneath you.  This is often referred to as building your downline.

You can then start earning commissions from the recruitment process itself and from any sales that your team makes.

Farmasi offers both routes, so it is definitely an MLM and not just a direct sales opportunity.  You can do one or both, but it is important you just understand that in MLM, the money is building your downline.  Recruiting may sound like a great way to make money, but it is also extremely flawed which we will explain to you as we go through this review.

Many MLM’s will get labelled as a pyramid scheme at some point in their history, which is a little unfair, but it often comes down to couple of things.  One is a misconception that all MLM’s are a pyramid scheme, which is a little unfair, but they do nothing to dispel the myth.

The second is that the compensation plan of an MLM related to recruitment does look like a pyramid.

The important thing to know is that an MLM is legit.  Farmasi is legit.  A Pyramid Scheme is not legit.

Is Farmasi A Pyramid Scheme?

No, Farmasi is not a pyramid scheme.  If you become one of their beauty consultants, you are encouraged to sell and promote the products that Farmasi offers.  There is no actually need to recruit, which is the basis for understanding whether anything is a pyramid scheme or not.  If recruitment is the only option, the it is a pyramid scheme.  But here is why people get confused.

This image below describes how an MLM compensation plan looks like related to the recruitment of people into your downline:

pyramid-scheme-graphic

If this is the only option, then you know that you are involved with a pyramid scheme.  MLM offers you this, plus commissions from selling products.

But you can see why so many people get confused.  It is a pyramid.

Farmasi has real products for you to sell and you can make money without the need to recruit anyone.  You can just sell these products and earn a 50% commission from the sales.

You do get rewarded for recruiting in Farmasi, but there is a bigger focus on retail sales which keeps it from being an outright pyramid scheme.

Success is Rare at Farmasi

The reality is that success is rare in all MLM business opportunities.  Even though Farmasi is one of the better MLM opportunities out there, it is still going to be very difficult to make any real money here.

Studies show that 73% – 99% of people that join an MLM lose money instead of making any money.

Farmasi has an income disclaimer on their website.  It suggests the average income will only be $500 – $2,000 a year.  But these numbers do not reflect any expenses associated with building a Farmasi business.  Which could be more than you have made:

Farmasi income disclaimer

When you consider that is across the year, it shows why MLM opportunities have such a low-income potential.

The reason why it is so difficult to make money with an MLM is that most people have no real audience to sell these products to when starting out. They don’t have enough friends or a network to be able to sell to and make money off.

In fact, 65% of people quit an MLM because they feel it is too awkward selling to friends and family.

That is why so many people start chasing the recruitment side of MLM’s to see if they can recruit people to sell the products for them.  But if you lack the experience with recruitment, you have the same problem.  No sales equals no income.

Here are some stats about MLM, that you need to know:

  • Between 73% to 99% of people lose money when joining an MLM
  • Of the small percentage that do make money, most make less that $5,000 a year. That is about $13 a day
  • 65% of people that join an MLM said they quit because they felt awkward selling to friends and family
  • 75% of people that join an MLM say they will never join another

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

The Farmasi Product Line

Let’s take a look at the product line at Farmasi.  I am not really an expert when it comes to make up and stuff.  But they have a couple of good points when it comes to their products.

The first is that they are environmentally friendly products and because the company is based in Turkey.  They are adhered to European standards for their products.  This is a major plus point as it means they do not contain any of the harsh chemicals you normally find in makeup products in the USA!!

The second is the price is really reasonable.  Often MLM’s make their products excessively overpriced.  But their product line ranges from $5 to $50.

Click here if you want to see their full product range, but here are the main categories they have products to offer in:

  • C. Tuna – foot care, oral care, skincare, haircare, aloe vera, baby
  • Makeup – body, face, lips, eyes and nails
  • Fragrances – for men and women
  • Accessories – bags, for hair, facial cleanser
  • Personal Care – hair care, cleansers, soap, health
  • Men – body wash, fragrances, moisturisers
  • Christmas – bags, boxes, fragrances, makeup

The vast majority of their product line is under $20 and that is the retail price.  So, as a consultant you would get 50% off of that price.

Their range is similar to other MLM’s we have reviewed, including Young Living, Youngevity, Nu Skin .  But the thing that makes Farmasi stand out is the price.  Their products are affordable for everyone, and like we said they are probably more eco-friendly and safer than the products available from the others.

Farmasi’s most popular product lines are:

  • Liquid Lipstick – $11.90
  • Gel Cleanser – $14.90
  • BB Cream – $15.90
  • Foundation – $22.90
Is Farmasi a scam - product line

There is the potential to make some decent money, if you have the network to sell these products too.  If you could sell these to your friends and family, you may be able to make a go of this.

However…

You will need to be able to expand this to more than just your friends and family if you want to make this a full-time income.  Click Here to learn how you could incorporate internet marketing to increase your MLM sales…

How to Make Money with Farmasi

Let’s get into, probably the main reason why you are here on this review.  How do you make money with Farmasi…?

As Farmasi is an MLM, there are the usual two ways for you to get paid as a Farmasi beauty consultant or influencer:

  1. Retail Commission – Sell their products and earn a commission
  2. Recruitment Commissions – Recruit people into your downline and earn bonuses from their sales, etc.

We will break down exactly how this works in a moment, let’s first discuss how much it costs to get started with Farmasi.

Getting Started with Farmasi

To get started with Farmasi, you will need to pay $19.99 to become a beauty influencer, this also gets you their starter kit.  This really surprised me, as this is the only fee you will need to pay to get started.

Most MLM’s have a huge fee and then expect you to buy a starter kit on top.

Don’t get me wrong there will be costs associated to running your business on top of this, but at least if it isn’t for you, you have only lost $20…

Another thing is that there is no monthly sale quota you need to achieve to remain active which is good.

Here is what you will get in your Farmasi Starter Kit:

  • Welcome letter
  • Dr C Tuna Guide English
  • Dr C Tune Guide Spanish
  • FARMASI opportunity brochure
  • Catalog English 2 PCS
  • FARMASI Catalog Spanish 3 PCS

Whilst they are not a prerequisite, you will find it hard to sell products without any samples for your customers to see.  So, they do offer a range of product packs you can buy to show your customers.

Product Pack – $49.99

is farmasi a scam - product pack

Activation Product Pack – $125 ($340 worth of Products)

is farmasi a scam - activation kit

Welcome Product Pack – $200 (Over $500 worth of Products)

You are not required to buy any of these packs, but your sponsor will typically push you to buy them as they will benefit from the sales.

But again, if you are trying to sell products without any products to show people it makes it really difficult to make a sale anyway.

You can see what comes in your expansion kits in the video below:

Farmasi Compensation Plan Explained...

MLM compensation plans are very hard to understand and Farmasi, whilst it isn’t as confusing as many, is still pretty difficult to understand if you are not familiar with how MLM’s work.

Here is a graph that shows the Farmasi compensation plan:

Here is the key points you need to know about their compensation plan.

Affiliate Ranks

There are 17 affiliate ranks shown by the image above with Boss being the highest rank you can achieve.  You can increase in rank by hitting certain sales targets and recruitment goals.

Each rank has different bonuses available.

Retail Commissions

This is the commissions you can earn for selling their products to customers.  They offer a 50% commission rate, which is really good.  You will earn 50% of anything you are able to sell.

Residual Commissions

These are the commissions you can earn from your downline.  The structure looks something like this:

mlm-binary-structure

The amount you can make depends on the amount of people below you sell products and then your affiliate rank too.

The higher your rank, the higher the percentage you earn from and further down the pyramid you can earn from.

Other Bonuses

There are a number of other bonuses you can earn from as part of their compensation plan.  For example, there is the “building your team” program where you can earn $40 when you have 2 members join your team and each accumulate 125 PV within one month.  These are mainly focused on your team sales, and your recruitment abilities.  So, there is more focus on recruitment like so many other MLM’s.

This is important to know, as Farmasi is trying to claim they are just a direct selling business, but they are clearly an MLM due to this recruitment side of their compensation plan.

You can read their full compensation plan here.  Alternatively, you can watch this video that describes their compensation plan.

What We Liked About Farmasi

Here is what we liked about Farmasi:

#1 Really Low Start-up Costs

When you compare this to many other MLM’s, this is a really low start up cost.  You only need to spend $19.99 to become a consultant.  Even if you don’t plan on actually selling the products, but plan on buying their makeup, etc.  It might be worth it, just to get the 50% discount on their products.

#2 Affordable Products That Receive Good Feedback

Another common hurdle MLM distributors have is that the products are so expensive, no one will buy them.  But that is not the case with Farmasi, their products are priced really well and are receiving really good reviews.  This is aided by the fact that the company focuses on environmentally friendly products with no animal testing and no animal-derived ingredients.

It helps that they have to comply with EU laws, which are somewhat stricter than the USA.

#3 More Focus on Selling Than Recruiting

Whilst recruiting is there as an option, with a really good commission rate and a decent product, there is a definite focus more on selling their products rather than just recruiting people.

Many MLM’s fall into the trap of having nonsense products just to have a product but are really interested in getting people into their recruitment program to make the company more money.  Especially when they tie their distributors into an expensive monthly autoship.

That is why we feel Farmasi is a better option than many and selling their products can work for people.

If you can build your own website in the right way, you can make great money just by selling makeup and having your website help you sell these products 24/7.

#4 No Monthly Sales Quota

The reason why so many people end up losing money with MLM is that they are often tied into spending $100+ per month just on products for themselves.  Whether they need them or not.  You end up with a garage full of products that you will never use or sell.  It puts so much stress on new distributors.

But that is why this is another great thing about Farmasi.  There is no monthly sales quota to stay qualified as a consultant with Farmasi.  It does feel like they want to help you succeed, rather than seeing you as a number.

What We Didn't Like About Farmasi

Here is what we didn’t like Farmasi:

#1 Low Income Potential

It is still early days for Farmasi in the USA, so they do not have an income disclosure document yet.  Instead, they have an income disclaimer which provides a projected gross annual revenue for beauty consultants signing up with Farmasi.

They are projected this to be between $500 and $2,000. You also have to factor in that this does not factor in any expenses and costs associated with building a Farmasi business, which could exceed the commissions received.

Even if you did earn $2,000 over the year that works out to $5.40 a day.  It hardly seems worth it.  It makes it out as not a “quit your day job and work from home” option.

There is the opportunity to earn more if you were to harness online marketing (like we do) through the website, but they do not provide you training.  You would need to go elsewhere for that, but we have your back there – check out this guide to improving MLM sales which covers this off.

#2 The Truth About MLMs

A study that was completed by the FTC found that 99% of MLM recruits lose money.  The same study shows that 95% of MLM recruits quit within 10 years and never go back.

Despite their claims they are a direct selling opportunity, they are still offering bonuses for recruiting more distributors, so they are an MLM.  They could fall foul of the usual thing that happens with MLM.  You might find that this could work as it is still new, but it won’t take long for your area to become saturated with people who are promoting the same thing and that is when the wheels start to come off.

#3 Competitive & Saturated Market

Despite the fact their products are receiving good feedback and are reasonably priced, they are still in a heavily saturated market.  It will be very competitive, and you need to get yourself out there and get people to buy your products for you to make money.

Farmasi might buck the trend, but they need to break into the market against the others that are out there.  The beauty industry is a $532 Billion industry. So, they might surprise us.  But for you, it will depend on your ability to get people to buy your products and build a team.  We are not all sales people, that is something you really need to ask yourself about.

#4 Farmasi Complaints

Farmasi has only been around in the USA since the start of 2019, but there are already a number of complaints from former beauty consultants…

is farmasi a scam - complaint

This tells us a couple of things.  Their customer service requires some work and there are also some conditions put in place when purchasing certain products.  This might be a one-off, but either way something to consider as this could affect your sales and your reputation.

#5 The Refunds Policy is Confusing

Farmasi’s returns policy could become an issue for customers and beauty influencers:

is farmasi a scam - returns policy

It is unclear what their returns policy is.  It appears like influences are expected to offer full refunds, but the company itself only offers 80% refunds.  Without this being clear on their sales page, people will be annoyed if they return their products within the 30 days and don’t receive a full refund.

Then there are the complaints on their BBB page.  Here is an example about being unable to contact anyone.

farmasi bbb complaints

When researching any MLM, it is always worth checking out their Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating.  It shows you how well they deal with complaints, etc.  But they only score as an F and that score is solely based on how they respond to complaints.

That isn’t a great score at all:

#6 Bothering Friends & Family

If you already have an audience to promote these products too, then this might be a good deal for you.  But if you don’t and you think that relying on your friends and family is a good business model, then you will be sorely disappointed.  65% of people quit MLM due to it feeling awkward selling to their friends and family.  This business model is more difficult than people think.  Selling to friends and family does not lead to a good income stream…

#7 No Internet Marketing Training

Farmasi may give you a ready-made website to use to earn commissions on, it does not mean you OWN an online business.  The reality is that this website will be the same one that every distributor gets.  Duplicated websites do not rank well in the search engines.  The only way for you to turn this website into a way of making money is by learning how to use internet marketing.  Otherwise, that $19.99 only gets you a booklet.  It does not include anything about how to get your website to the top of the search engines and get real customers to come to your site and therefore your products.

That doesn’t mean you cannot succeed, but it does mean you need somewhere to receive the training you need.  Our top recommended training platform has awesome step-by-step training on how you could create your own online business promoting products you want to sell.  It is the same training program that has helped us reach a 4-Figure Passive Monthly Income.  If you want to proceed with Farmasi, I would still recommend you check out our top recommended training to learn how you could promote these makeup products to a larger audience and potentially smash your earnings potential too.

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

Is Farmasi A Scam?

All being said, Farmasi is definitely not a scam.  It is a legitimate MLM company that rewards you for selling their products with a healthy 50% commission rate.  That being said, I still would not recommend this business model to a complete beginner though.  If you have an established network that you could promote these products to, then this might be a good fit.

But for those just getting started, MLM is an extremely difficult business model and Farmasi lacks any real training to take that website they give you and make it work 24/7 for you.  There is much more to marketing than just having a website.

The only silver lining is that this opportunity is still relatively new and so, it might be the right time for someone who can promote these products to join.  Especially as there is no on-going costs.

But there will come a point where it will become saturated and the numerous complaints show that you may suffer from anytime a customer needs to contact the customer service department or wants a refund and realises, they do not get a full refund.

Farmasi is still new, so it is hard to measure it for their income potential.  But if $2,000/year is the most you can expect, it does make it sound like it is only going to be a casual income and not a way of replacing your job.  If you want to make passive income promoting beauty products, there is a much better way…

How We Make Money Online

We are not a fan of MLM, not because it is illegal or that it isn’t profitable, but because it is really restrictive, and the expensive costs involved.

That is why we recommend Affiliate Marketing.  It is our top recommended business model for anyone wanting to make money online.

The reasons are simple…

  • You don’t have to recruit anyone to make money
  • You have the freedom to promote any products or services you want and not get restricted by only promoting products from one MLM company
  • NO face-to-face Selling is involved
  • It is FREE to get started

As it only costs $19.99 to become a beauty influencer with Farmasi, you could actually utilise affiliate marketing and promote Farmasi products too.

In fact, with affiliate marketing we are close to earning a 4-figure monthly passive income stream.  With the right help and guidance, you can too.  Click HERE to find out about our top recommended training platform for learning affiliate marketing:

  1. I am wary of MLM opportunities, so I am pleased to have found your article. I am sure that I could be successful with something like this but I would need help with marketing my opportunity. So it was a no brainer that when I scrolled down I saw the form to get your marketing blueprint. I signed up and cant wait to get started on a project and be successful.

    • Hi Nic,

thanks for checking out our review.  It definitely offers a different opportunity when compared to other MLM’s, especially the fact that there is no huge ongoing costs.  But there is still a lack of training on how to harness this online.  With their prices and good reviews, an internet marketer might be able to make this work.  Home parties and social media selling doesn’t really work well for MLM, but done right getting them onto Google could make you money.  Glad you have checked out our blueprint, it will definitely show you how you can get started.

      All the best

  2. Hello there! this is an amazing review you have got here. I am sure these quality informations in this post will be of great help to anyone who come across it. You only have to sell one thing every 6 months to stay active, unlike
other affiliate programs that kick you out if you don’t make sales.

    • Hey Joy,

it does show they actually want to help people succeed, by not having huge overheads and ongoing costs like so many other MLM’s.  I still do not think it is going to be easy, nothing is.  But at least there is a chance of this working.

      All the best
