What is Survey Club?
Survey Club is an online hub or members-only survey site directory. It is where you can sign up and then get access to surveys that help in clinical research studies and other market research.
Basically, it is a platform that connects market research companies with people who are willing to complete them.
The company started up in 2005, so has been an established platform in the survey market for a long time.
Currently, Survey Club claims to have more than 16 million members on 6 continents. But this doesn’t mean they are all active. Many people try it and then just log out, but their accounts remain. So, the number of active members might be a lot less than this number.
As it started out in 2005, it is one of the oldest paid survey sites in the world. It also operates out of the United States, Canada, UK and Australia.
By signing up, you can get paid for taking online surveys, using coupons, doing product-testing, taking part in research studies, etc…
The research studies part reminds us a lot of Prolific Surveys.
If you are new to online surveys, it might be good for you to first understand how online surveys work. Then you will have a better idea of how Survey Club will work
How Do Online Surveys Work?
Companies spend a lot of time and money on research to ensure they are making the right decisions around products, services, marketing campaigns and understanding consumer preferences.
That is why there are a lot of different market research companies out there helping to connect these companies with consumers.
Companies sign up and pay these market research companies to get the feedback they need. The market research companies then go and pay individual panellists (people like you who are looking to earn a bit of money doing surveys) to get the information they want.

How Does Survey Club Work?
Survey Club in itself is not a market research company, they also do not directly work with any of the companies. Instead, they are a survey directory or intermediary which consolidates many different survey panels all in one place.
In a sense they are the middleman between you and these other survey providers.
Here is the thing you need to know. Whilst there is some surveys you can complete from within Survey Club, you will also be directed to a number of other survey providers with you needing to sign up with them. This is the only way to get to a larger number of surveys to complete, but it also means you will have logins with a high number of different providers.
This process can be annoying to some people, especially as you have to repeat the sign-up process multiple times to different survey companies. Does it mean you can earn more money? Potentially!
Is Survey Club Legit?
Let us take a moment to discuss the most important question you probably have before joining. Is Survey Club legit or a scam. As you were looking for a review, it is a good bet that you are questioning that very point.
It is true that there are so many scams out there, so being able to make money online so easily can seem questionable.
But, as for Survey Club they are a legitimate company that will pay you for your time to complete online surveys.
According to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Survey Club has an A+ Rating. That is a really good sign that they are legitimate and trustworthy.
There are some people who have reported a negative experience with Survey Club, but an A+ rating from the BBB is the highest score possible. This shows the company is both trustworthy and reliable.
The bigger question you have to ask yourself is whether a Survey Club account is worth your time and effort. Not whether it is legit or not. Because it is clearly legit.
However, the other factor you have to consider with survey sites is the amount of personal data that you are going to be sharing with this survey company and its partners.
This includes your birthday and address when you sign up with Survey Club.
If you don’t share your information, it is very unlikely you will qualify for many surveys.
If you read their privacy policy, you will see that Survey Club does share your information based on for survey purposes. You will never be required to give your information to the website, but certain surveys require certain personal information if you want to get paid.
Survey site intermediaries or directories do tend to bring with them, what we call, the SPAM factor. This is where your email account starts getting bombarded with junk…
Survey Club does have an anti-spam policy. Survey Club claims to not allow any spamming of your email address.
But you have to remember that they are only the middleman, so they cannot speak for the other companies you will sign up for in the process. Survey Club might not hit you with spam, but the others might do enough to make up for us.
Regardless of the survey site you sign up for, you might want to make sure you have a good spam filter on your inbox.
At the end of the day, websites like Survey Club are paying you for your personal information in the form of surveys. If you are not entirely comfortable with sharing your personal data, then online surveys are really not for you.

What's The Income Potential At Survey Club?
Hopefully now you know they are legit; you can start to relax a bit. But now we must move onto how much does Survey Club pay you for completing these surveys.
But if you are thinking that completing surveys will make you rich overnight, then you are sorely mistaken.
Online surveys are only ever going to earn you a little extra cash at best. The good news is that the sign-up process is free. But if you have ever seen anyone claim that they are making $100 or more with a 5-minute survey, the truth is that they are clearly not.
I have also found that the number of surveys you are eligible greatly differs depending on your demographic.
But at best you will be earning a few dollars for spending up to 30 minutes on a survey. The longer the survey, the more money you earn (in theory).
Surveys will not be an avenue for you to quit your day job. But they are something you can do whilst watching the TV or whilst on the bus.
The other factor you have to consider with survey sites is that they tend to have a payment threshold you have to meet before you can access your earnings. Some of these are low (like Prolific Surveys) Some are quite high (like Swagbucks).
Survey Club’s is a $20 threshold. It might not sound like a lot. But if you have to complete a ton of surveys and are nowhere close to that point, how long do you keep going to get to that $20.
This could take weeks for you to get to that figure.
There is the alternative of using their referral program to make some money to get you closer to that $20 threshold.
Their referral program will reward you with $1 for every person that signs up to Survey Club through your referral link. It could yield you some results to invite your friends and family in.
Getting Started with Survey Club
Like I said, it is a free sign up process with a few steps for you to complete to get started with Survey Club. Let’s go through those steps now:
1. Create an Account
To start taking surveys with Survey Club, you first need to go to SurveyClub.com and click “Become a Member” to create a free account.
2. Fill in Personal Information & Demographic Profile
This is where you will be asked to complete some information about yourself and some demographic questions like household details, employment status, income level, health conditions, interests, etc.
They use this information to provide relevant surveys to you.
3. Sign up for Survey Panels
Once you have completed your profile, you will then be brough to a website where you can sign up for specific research panels in your home country. These sites are affiliates of Survey Club and you be required to complete the sign-up process for each website if you want to earn any money through their surveys.
4. Learn About Surveys
They then go through some information you need to know before you get going with completing surveys
5. Confirm Your Email Address
This is common and just a step to prove you are who you said you are and have access to the email address you are using.
6. Find Surveys
Now, you are in and ready to see if you are eligible for any surveys. If you signed up for any of the other survey panels, you will receive emails about their particular surveys.
But from the Survey Club dashboard, you can access a list of available surveys.
7. Take Part in Surveys
If you see a survey you want to take part in from the list, go and click on it. Note that you will typically have to complete a pre-screening questionnaire each time to see if you are eligible. This can get annoying, especially if you keep getting kicked out of surveys without earning anything.

What We Liked About Survey Club
Here is what we liked about Survey Club:
#1 Free to Sign Up
Whilst surveys will never earn you a huge amount, at least you aren’t having to pay out for the privilege.
#2 Money, Rather Than Points
This is something else we liked, you are paid in money and not points. There are a number of survey sites (like Swagbucks) where you are only paid in points and not money. It can get confusing when it is points as you cannot easily work out how much the points are worth.
#3 Larger Variety of Surveys
As it does associate with other survey providers, you get access to a larger variety and number of surveys for you to complete.
What We Didn't Like About Survey Club
Here is what we didn’t like about Survey Club:
#1 Survey Club Is A Middleman!
Survey Club doesn’t actually produce its own surveys, it is not a market research company, this means you have to sign up with an endless number of other survey sites to get to the sites.
It begs the question “Why join a site that will just redirect me to another site?” The reason Survey Club do it is because they will earn a commission every time you sign up with one of their associated survey sites.
You could go direct to these other sites and achieve the same thing, without the need to log into Survey Club.
The only good thing is that Survey Club is free to join. There are others that charge you to sign up, these are the ones that you want to avoid completely. Never give your credit card details over to any of the online survey platforms. You should never have to pay to do surveys!
#2 Really Low-Income Potential
This is not unique to Survey Club, all online paid surveys in general do not pay out a huge amount for your time.
The most you could make per survey is just a few cents to a few dollars. But you have to consider that you could be completing surveys that take you up to 30 minutes to complete.
I am not beating on surveys, there are some people who consider the extra money useful and are quite happy earning a few cents per survey. But I think that is more because they have not been introduced to a much better way to earn money online, which is just a legit.
But, if you are content at earning a few dollars for hours of work, then surveys might be right for you.
But then you have to factor in the withdrawal threshold and whether you will ever get to the point of being able to withdraw your money.
Here is why…
Survey Club has a pay-out threshold of $20, which mean you cannot withdraw your money until you have built up at least $20 in your account.
But!
The threshold only applies to Survey Club.
When you take real surveys on other platforms, each panel has their own threshold amount.
So, if you are making a few dollars here and there on different platforms, you still cannot withdraw your money if you haven’t hit the threshold.
Makes Sense?
It begs the question, why waste your time working on something that is even worse than working on a normal part-time job?
#3 Pre-Screening Surveys
The pre-screening questions are also something that we do not like about survey sites. They take down all your demographic information, which can take a while to fill in. Then they go and ask you a pre-screening questionnaire for a survey and you find that you are not qualified for that survey. What’s the point of the demographic questionnaire then?

It is very clear that the earning potential is really small
#4 Lots of Emails – SPAM!
Getting tons of spam email is another drawback of online surveys. As they are a middleman that is making money every time you sign up for another of their associated survey sites. You will find tons of emails inviting you to new ones.
Although most of them said that your personal information is secured with them, that is not simply not the case. They still have ways of advertising new things and spamming your emails.
My advice is that if you are considering signing up to any online survey provider, don’t use your personal email account. Create another one that you will only use for surveys!

Survey Club Alternatives?
If you are still unsure about Survey Club but still want to pursue the online survey route, there are alternatives to Survey Club. Whilst they will not earn you a full-time income, they at least will allow you to earn some extra money.
Swagbucks
Swagbucks is quite a fun site. You are also not just restricted to earning money, or rather points, from taking surveys. You can watch videos, play games, search online and even earn cash back on purchases made from their partners.
It is free sign up, and you can earn points for doing tasks and then choose how you want to redeem these points.
Survey Junkie
Survey Junkie is a free-to-use survey site that connects you to hundreds of potential survey opportunities. You can quickly and easily sign up using Facebook, Google, or an email address, but you need to be a resident of the United States, Canada, or Australia to join.
Unlike Survey Club, Survey Junkie uses a points system, which allows you to earn points for completing surveys that you can later redeem for cash or gift cards. You do get points just for signing up, though figuring out exactly how much you’re making can be annoying.
The best part? Your answers are anonymous, so you’re not giving out as much personal information as you might with other sites.
Prolific Surveys
Prolific Surveys is probably our favourite survey site and the pay-outs are a little more than you would find at other survey sites.
You are paid out in cash, with a cash out amount of only $5 and you will be conducting surveys that help in the research of the world’s universities.
Instead of answering the same old questions about consumer stuff. There are some interesting studies around human behaviour, etc. The information is also private and confidential which is a good sign.
InboxDollars
InboxDollars is a fairly popular online survey site. It lets you earn money from their website or their mobile app.
They even give you a $5 bonus for signing up. However, they do have a really high payment threshold of $30. This will make it extremely unlikely you will be cashing out anytime soon.
But they are legit and have been in business since 2000.
Pinecone Research
Pinecone Research is a well-established survey site that is known for its relatively high pay-outs. The company is owned by Nielsen and gives you the chance to take some exclusive surveys.
But the issues if that they do not accept new members very often. You have to be extremely lucky to get the chance to sign up. The only way is to keep an eye on when they are opening registrations.
My Survey Club Review - Final Conclusion
No, Survey Club is not a scam, but it is also not going to earn you the kind of money you are really after.
The alternatives we listed about are much better options for you, if you are determined to find a survey site to make some additional money.
But, let me ask you…
Are you really content with completing online surveys for pennies at a time?
Or are you looking into online surveys to see if it can help you earn some extra cash or to help pay the bills?
To be honest, it would be much easier for you to pay your bills with a local part-time job that it would be through completing online surveys.
If you have any skills to add value to other people’s lives, you could consider freelancing!
For example, if you are good at writing, you could get paid to help write articles for people.
Or, if you are any good at designing logos, you could offer that as a freelance service on platforms like Fiverr.
There are tons of opportunities within freelancing, like graphic design, video editing, voiceovers, translations and loads more.
The good thing about freelancing is that the money you will make will be much more than anything you could earn on paid surveys; you can still get paid from home. But the best bit is you will get paid what you are worth and not what the survey providers thinks.
But the downside is that it is still what is called an active income source, where you need to keep putting in the hours to make money. (but it still can be quite lucrative).

I used to spend my life doing surveys, but then I woke up and realized there are better and less boring ways to make money online. I found that surveys took up so much time and the money that I ended up making was very little for the time put in.
I think it is far more productive to spend that time building your own online business or sell products online. Also coming from South Africa, most of the Surveys are not valid for us in any case, so you could say you waste even more time because you are kicked out halfway through the survey.
Nevertheless, Survey Club looks like one of the better sites to belong to if you are American unless you have any other good ones up your sleeves.

thanks for checking out our review. I agree, surveys are such a waste of time. Spending hours for just a few cents is clearly not a viable option. Yet, many people think it is ok. But i think it is more to do, that they don’t realise there are other legit and better options out there.
We prefer affiliate marketing, but it does require time and effort. Some people are just not willing to put the time in, so they stick with surveys and never realise their potential.

I have tried taking surveys for money but have had no real success. Survey club seems to be a similar issue. Although they may not be a true scam, they take a lot of time for little to no money payout, in my experience. One such program I tried was a never-ending loop that I finally quit (closed the window I was using) because it never ended. I had spent about 20 minutes clicking through one link after another with the promise of $1 at the end. Even if it had worked, $1 for 20 minutes?
These remind me of the old “envelop stuffing” programs. They just don’t make sense.

I had never even thought of it like that, yes you are right envelop stuffing programs are a good analogy for surveys. Completely a waste of time in my opinion. You would earn more with a part time job and not get stuck in front of a screen hopelessly answering the same old questions all the time.

I agree with you that making money by taking surveys is slow. The free to sign up is great, but your inbox is soon stuffed! Screening out the spam mail is a pain! The time for each survey was also surprising.
I did try this site and found that my demographics didn’t really relate to their needs. When we signed up my aunt to try to earn money for manicures and pedicures we were met with the same issues. She has had one to do in a 9 day period. A real disappointment. So while it is not a scam, it is surely not what I would recommend. The spam mail is easy enough to delete, but a bit of an annoyance as well. I think we will have to find other ways for her to earn online. Maybe she can write or something in editing.

it is amazing how many demographics are out there, yet these survey sites are only really ideal for a certain one. I found the same, I didn’t qualify for many at all. You need to be a smoker or someone with a health condition and you might have a better shot.
All in all, your aunt would do much better trying freelancing and earning a decent buck, rather than wasting time on surveys…
