Affiliate Marketing is an awesome way of building an online business to earn money from home. Having your own website is a great platform for branching out and building an authority in your chosen niche to make it as lucrative as you can.
But if you are just starting out, you may be looking for a great website builder that gives you everything you need and is free. Well, today I am going to be talking about a great content management system for your website, how to get started for free plus some great bonuses that are included with this awesome website builder.
Let’s start with clarifying your understanding of what exactly is affiliate marketing…
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate Marketing is where an affiliate gets rewarded for introducing a buyer to an online product or service. Amazon is the biggest marketplace online and is also has an affiliate program.
People online are constantly reviewing products before making that final decision to make a purchase, so they rely on honest reviews and advice from authority sites in a given niche.
Build yourself an online business, work hard to become an authority and affiliate marketing can easily earn you a full-time income from home.
But before we can start building that authority website, we need a website and content management system that makes it as pain-free as it can be to get started. That is why I recommend WordPress as that CMS for an Affiliate Marketer.

Why WordPress is a Great Choice for Affiliate Marketing?
I have used a number of different content management systems over the years, and honestly a number of them have a steep learning curve, and I spent more time learning how to do something with it then I did actually create content for the website. Content is king and a key element to building up that authority in your niche. I don’t want to have to use a complicated website builder to achieve something that WordPress can do in a simple way.
This also shows in the figures on how many people actually use WordPress. Over 50% of the website out there use WordPress.
You do not need to know anything about html or coding, just an easy menu system and more control over your website than any website builders, such as Wix.
One of our previous websites used Joomla, and I would not recommend it to anyone who isn’t an expert in website design. Way too complicated, in my mind anyway.
WordPress features a one-click install button to get you started. It is also highly versatile through the use of plugins. Instead of bogging your website down with features you may never use, you only install plugins as and when you need them to achieve a specific feature.
You can also change the look and feel of your website at any time, through the use of WordPress themes.
There are tons of resources out there on how to get the most out of WordPress, and it is by far the easiest content management system out there for affiliate marketers. Easily add your links into your website and even utilise plugins to make this task even easier.
You Need the Right Website Hosting
If you think about your website as the house, the land your house is built on is the web hosting. If you build your house on dodgy land, then you will have a problem for years to come.
That is the same premise, if you choose the wrong web hosting for your affiliate marketing website. People need to trust you when they visit your site, if they find it is constantly down or slow, they will not stay on your website to follow any of your affiliate links.
All you want to worry about when you have your website and affiliate marketing business up and running is creating engaging content to build up the levels of traffic needed to make this venture profitable.

Hello John,
I consider myself an affiliate marketer and from my perspective, I tend to think that affiliate marketing is one of the best ways in order to generate passive income online but one must be able to put in the effort and time in order to succeed in this job.
SiteRubix is one of the most fastest and robust hosting platforms in the world powered by WordPress.
Hey,
thanks for checking out my post. I agree with that, affiliate marketing is a great way of earning money in something that you actually want to work in. Having the right tools is also an important factor and your website and hosting is an important step in getting it right.
thanks
John
I have been doing internet marketing for the past 2 years, and recently, a friend of mine told me about affiliate marketing and the earnings he was getting per month, it was really reasonable than I am currently earning fro selling Evon products in my community. After reading your article, I am convinced that its the real information I was looking for.
I have created my website through your link, and I am very eager to learn more.
I have bookmarked your website for future reference for it has overwhelming information

I love the idea of working from home, no office to get dressed and travel too, no boss to answer too, I am so in for this. I love the idea of having a few websites and working on them everyday from the comfort of my own home, and later on in life ill be set up so I can watch my kids grow and not miss a thing.
Hey Jayde,
thanks for checking out my post. That sounds like a great motivation that you can draw on until your business is achieving exactly what you described.
Good Luck with it!
John
I would love to have my own website up and running – I’ve been studying numerous ‘how to’ articles over the last few weeks trying to do just that!
The main problem I have is most of these ‘offers’ catch you out with hidden payments somewhere along the line – is anything really free online any longer?
This Site Rubix offer – what happens with the hosting? Is that free as well or do we have to pay a hidden charge?
Hey Chris,
thanks for checking out my post. The hosting is included in a free site on WA. You can stay free for as long as you feel the need. I would say at this point, there are a ton of advantages to a paid site, but that doesn’t mean someone couldn’t start with a free site and stay with a free site until your business can pay the paid subscriptions. There is really no hidden charges with a free starter membership within WA.
thanks
John
Very well put together on building your own website and what hosting to use. I can see that you have a lot of experience with having your own website and hosting. I do agree siterubix offers a lot especially being with Wealthy affiliate the training they provide is just phenomenal.
True about what you said on building your website on the right foundation from the start to avoid a faulty site later on.
Regards
Hey Cheriri,
thanks for checking out my post. Getting the basics right in the first place is what will lead to it being a great platform for years to come. You want to build something that can grow with you, and not feel the need to jump when it doesn’t
I personally love everything Wealthy Affiliate has to offer and their hosting allows our sites to be awesome.
thanks
John
Hi John and Gemma,
15 years ago I ran an Ebay store for a couple of years using drop shipping and it was just too much work for too small a profit margin. I had hoped to have a stay at home income, but I gave up, went back into teaching and moved to Korea and then China for 10 years. Now I am too old to work in China and am back looking for work I can do at home.
Even at that time earlier I looked at affiliate marketing, then a new field. I needed a sure thing, so I opted for the teaching. Now, though, from your article and what I can see in the marketplace, it looks like a good option for me. You have built an attractive site, I guess using the skills you have learned at Wealthy Affiliate. It’s time for me to take a look in detail at what is offered.
Thanks a lot for the introduction.
Best regards,
Joe
Hi Joe,
thanks for checking out our post. I agree, that there are barriers with drop shipping, however it can work in the right way with making sure you sign up with a good wholesaler and are willing to do the work.
Affiliate Marketing has more benefits though, as you don’t have to deal with any products. If our wholesaler lets us down, we need to pick up the pieces. Whereas affiliate marketing is where you are only giving them your views and allowing them to make their own decisions.
It might not seem like a safe choice, but if you have the right mindset and realistic expectations, it can really turn into something awesome.
We hope you succeed with whichever direction you choose. thanks
John & Gem
