Is Power Lead System a Scam? IM & MLM Program Exposed?!

Welcome to our Power Lead System Review!

This was an interesting find as it combines both an affiliate marketing program with the compensation plan of an MLM company… But which is it?

Can it be an affiliate marketing, or an MLM scheme or Both!?

That is what we wanted to find out, we will share with you the information we found here.

First off, it is great to see that you are doing your research before buying into a “seemingly good” product.

It is the best way to avoid online scams and find the legitimate way to make money online!

Rest assured, that we are not associated with Power Lead System in any way.  So, relax, we are not here to pitch or sell anything to you.

Instead, we are here to reveal what this program is all about.  Let’s get into it with a quick product overview…

Power Lead System Review Summary

Product Name: Power Lead System

Founder: Neil Guess & Michael Price

Product Type: Internet Marketing Training & MLM company

Price: $30/month or $54/month + various expensive products (upsells)

Best For: More Experienced Marketers

Power Lead System - Products

Pros

  •  None

Cons

  • Average Training, Not Beginner Friendly
  • No Training To Build Businesses
  • Too Much Hype
  • MLM Type Compensation Plan is Confusing

Summary:  Power Lead System is an MLM company that is marketing an Internet Marketing program that shows people how to market their business online.  As promising as it may sound, they are only actually teaching you how to promote the product you just bought. There are huge upsells that you have to sell to make money, but only after you have paid for them yourself.  Definitely not something that I would recommend, if you are looking for a way to earn a full-time income.

What is Power Lead System?

Power Lead System is an MLM or Multi-Level Marketing company that markets a business suite of tools including:

  • Google hangout pages
  • Lead Capture pages
  • Audio & Video postcards
  • Autoresponder Tools
  • Much More

These are designed to help you market your existing business online.

Power Lead System was founded in 2013 by Internet Marketer Neil Guess and MLM Veteran Michael Price.

Neil Guess is an Internet Marketer based in Washington.  He is known as the co-founder and co-owner of Power Lead System.  Before he started PLS, he was an affiliate of Solavei, which is an MLM company that sold contract-free mobile phone services.

Then there is Michael Price, who is an MLM veteran.  He has won many sales and MLM awards, including Sales Rep of the Year at a Fortune 100 company.  He also used to be a trainer for Tony Robbin’s Robbins Research International.

To understand more about what Power Lead System is, let’s explore their products.

Power Lead System Product Line

Power Lead System - Products

Power Lead System (Gold) – $30/month

This is their main product with Power Lead System.  It is their website/funnel builder with an autoresponder system.  It comes with a 7-day free trial (although they ask for a credit card, so make sure you cancel it before the 7-days is up otherwise they will charge your card).  It gives members a chance to try out all the features.

If you get someone to sign up to this under you, you get to keep $20/month and the other $10 is passed up to the next qualified affiliate.

Free Ad Secrets – $147 one-time fee

Power Lead System - Free Ad Secrets

This is a complete training program on how to generate quality leads for free.  It was created by Jeff Garder.

If you were to sell this product, you keep $100 and then $25 gets passed up to the next qualified affiliate. (but you have to buy the product to be able to sell it).

Social Profit Academy – $497 one-time fee

Power Lead System - Social Profit Academy

A training course on how to do social media marketing without having to chase family members and friends.  It goes in-depth on how to use Facebook Ads, Google Ads, YouTube ads and more.

If you were to sell this product on, you would earn $400 and pass on $50 to the next qualified affiliate. (But again, you need to buy it to be able to benefit from it).

Master Traffic Institute – $1,497 one-time fee

This is multiple individual lessons by so-called industry gurus from the top ranks of Power Lead System and will cost you $1,497.  The affiliate would earn $1,000 and passes on $200.

Lead Lightning – $7 one-time fee

This is a funded proposal type of program under Power Lead System.  This is included as a bonus and as an additional income stream.

This program includes a starter marketing funnel where customers get a simple capture page and autoresponder sequence to resell Lead Lightning.

How to Make Money with Power Lead System

To become eligible to make money with Power Lead System, you first need to pay a higher rate a month.  Their affiliate program costs $24/month and that brings your monthly cost to $54/month to become eligible to earn any commission you get from either selling the monthly subscription you just bought or from selling any of the other products.

But notice, how part of the commission gets passed up.  That means you have to buy the products to be able to benefit from their sale.

If you stayed on the basic membership but someone clicked on your link and bought the Master Traffic Institute package.  You wouldn’t see any of the money.

Affiliate Programs should be free and benefit you regardless, I am guessing that is why they went with the MLM plan as the people at the top will benefit more than those below…

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

Is Power Lead System a Pyramid Scheme?

I get it, as soon as people see an MLM they naturally assume it may be a Pyramid Scheme.  This is partly down to how the MLM companies and their distributors have a huge focus on recruitment.  Most MLM’s are legit, and as a Pyramid Scheme is not you can see that MLM’s get this title without it being true.

But if they managed their distributors a little better, then they wouldn’t get a tag that no company wants.

Just know that a Pyramid Scheme is where the only way of making money is by recruiting.  A legit MLM has products or services available.

Whilst Power Lead System does have products (training) and it seems quite useful, like any MLM there will be an emphasis on you selling this basic membership to as many people as you can so you can make money, but in a way you are recruiting them into the program to sell them the bigger products.

Getting Started with Power Lead System

To get started and use their tools and training, you will need to subscribe to their Gold account which is $30 per month.

But their affiliate program costs another $24 per month, which puts you at paying $54 per month to use both their tools and sell them.  But this only makes you eligible to sell this membership and not the other upsells.

P.S. This program enabled us to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream.  It’s Free to get started and costs only $49/month to go full-time!

Power Lead System Compensation Plan

First of all, you don’t actually have to sign up to their affiliate program.  It is completely voluntary.

Here is how their system works:

Power Lead System - Matching Bonus

When you sell their Power Leads System and have someone sign up for the $30/month membership you will receive $20 in commission and $10 is passed up to the next qualified affiliate.

The next product, Free Ad Secrets, sells for $147.  When you sell this product, you will earn $100 in commission and $25 gets passed up to the next qualified affiliate.

Social Profit Academy sells for $500, which earns you $400 in commission and then $50 gets passed on to the next qualified affiliate.

Then this also works for their last product, the Master Traffic System which sells for $1,497.  This will earn you $1,000 and $200 gets passed up.

However…

It isn’t as simple as just selling these products, you need to meet a few conditions before you can earn the amount of money, we just discussed.

  1. You need to have subscribed to whatever it is you are selling. That means if you want to sell and benefit from the Master Traffic System, you will have had to have paid for it first
  2. Affiliates have to maintain active subscriptions if you want to continually earn from this program.

Another thing to factor in is the fact there is a 4.97% sales deduction marked as merchant processing fees, for which you are fully responsible for.  This also covers all fees incurred from chargebacks and refunds.

What We Liked About Power Lead System

Here is where we would normally write what we liked about this program, however whilst it has some training.  It will be very focused on teaching you how to self-promote this product to others to make money…  It reminds me too much of programs like MOBE or Digital Altitude. (Both of which were closed down by the FTC!)

What We Didn't Like About Power Lead System

Here is what we didn’t like about Power Lead System:

#1 Average Training, Not Newbie Friendly

Know that the training has an ulterior motive, and that means it will be focused on teaching you how to promote the product you just paid for.  So, it will not be a full comprehensive training pack on either Affiliate Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM).

There is also feedback out there that says this is not an easy platform to set up, it is fairly difficult to set up.

#2 No Training to Build Businesses

Their programs are aimed at those who’re already running a business and are just looking for ways to bolster their sales fine.

But after reading some feedback about their training videos, most of them mentioned that a lot of the modules talk about getting the program’s affiliate links and how to sell them.

The training also again talks about how to get the sales videos and the done-for-you landing pages so you can promote this product.

But they do not take you through a step-by-step guide on how to use this system and how to use it around your own business you are trying to promote.  It is purely focused on their products and how to promote them.  It doesn’t show you how to promote your own business.

They also do not show you how to get your website to rank in Google.  They also do not teach you how to create content that gets ranked by Google on Page One.

There is just a lot of missing information that they could have included in these modules, it just shows that this product is not worth your time or money.

#3 So Much Sales Hype!

Power Lead System is just a load of hype and sales pitches going on about the programs huge income potential.  Now if they could back up the claims, then there is nothing wrong with it.  But promising $500 a day with little to no work is just over the top.

When you break down how their business model works and how their compensation plan runs, you will need to sell the products twice in order to recoup your losses every month.

You also have to factor in that you have to pay to be in their affiliate program, which is $24 a month.  Which seems quite unnecessary given the high-ticket programs they are marketing.

All these programs do is make false promises to beginners that there is just some serious money to be made with very little work.  Which is clearly not the case.

#4 MLM Type Compensation Plan is Difficult

The Power Lead System compensation plan has the characteristics of an MLM, but it is going to cost you hundreds of dollars to get back what you spent on this platform.

The thing is that you need to buy the product to get the rights to sell them.  But the customers also need to maintain their subscription every month for you to be able to earn.

So, if you just try out the product for a month, you’re only going to earn for that month.

You income stream here is totally reliant on not only sell the programs but making sure your customers are maintaining their subscriptions.

Haven't Made Your First $1 Yet?

Studies have shown that more than 70% of the people who want to make money online have not made their first dollar yet. So, you’re not alone!

My Power Lead System Review - Final Conclusion

Power Lead System is definitely not a scam, but that does mean that this is a great way to make money online.

The reasons we think this is because of the way their compensation works, which is difficult to maintain and to build consistently.  There’s just a number of factors that make their compensation plan barely decent enough to make it worth investing money on.

The training also will not teach you effective marketing, as it is solely focused on teaching you how to sell this on.  It is decent enough to get you through what their intention is.  But it is missing some information that is necessary to promote your own business or products.

Just doing a search online would yield better options on how to build your business online and it would bring up better results that what Power Lead System offers.

How We Make Money Online

I’m not a fan of MLM, not because it’s illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and expensive costs involved.

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is our top recommended business model for anyone looking to make money online

The reasons are simple…

  • You can promote anything you want and aren’t restricted to only promote products from one MLM company
  • You don’t have to recruit anyone to make money
  • You never need to sell to your friends and family
  • It’s free to get started

In fact, with affiliate marketing we’ve been able to Create a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream.  If you want to learn more, click here.

  1. I’m so happy there are people like you guys informing others. Many people get sucked into these MLM or Affiliate businesses that are actually a scam. Well, at least in my eyes this one looks like a scam from the moment you’ve got to pay crazy fees per month to actually learn nothing but to sell someone else’s products.. I would really like to see programs where you actually learn and get the support on how to set up something you truly believe in and isn’t bound just to some in-house products. But it looks like you’ve got that solution too ;).

    • Hi Virenda,

thanks for checking out our review.  This is definitely a program that will only really benefit the owners and not someone looking to get started with their own business online.

Wealthy Affiliate is that solution and is our top recommended program for a reason!!

      All the best

    • Hi Evans,

thanks for checking out our review.  MLM is a viable business opportunity, but it does take the right individual to make it a success.  Owing to the need to be able to make face-to-face sales and recruiting.

This program is a complete mixture though and doesn’t particularly for the best.

      All the best

  4. Power lead system is not a scam, from the review it is clear that the system is difficult for newbie to understand and operate, it’s seen that the training does not teach you all you need to grow your business, different upgrades at different price, the hype in price and the different compensation offers can get one stuck. And this is worrisome.

This company can not allow a newbie to make money online, because of it mode of operation so i will not recommend it to anyone. Affiliate marketing is still the best way to make money online for both newbie and experience marketers.

    • Hey John,

thanks for checking out our review!  This program is definitely not a great option for beginners.  We would totally recommend a training program that supports newbies, rather than hinders them.

Wealthy Affiliate is our top recommended training program.  If you are looking for a way to make money online, then we definitely recommend you check them out.

      All the best
